So, what are your favorite game shows? I'm mostly a fan of trivia, like Jeopardy!, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, & such. I also grew up on Wheel of Fortune & all those Nickelodeon game shows.

But my current favorite has to be "Deal or No Deal". OMG--this is the most suspenseful, chilling, gripping show I've seen in years! In case you haven't seen it, 26 suitcases have 26 different amounts o' money. If you pick the right one, you could have a million bucks! But you don't get to find out what's in it; you have to open all the other cases first.

After every few cases, the bank calls you with an offer to buy your case for a certain amount of money. It could be less than your case--or more. You have to say "Deal! or "No Deal!", then open more cases if you choose the latter. As long as you say "No Deal", you have to keep opening cases until you either have 1 case left on the board, or the bank offers you a good enough deal.

You have to see it--it's AWEXOME.

Jeopardy!, though, will always be my favorite. Hands down. I love it so much, I have a fat clicky pen in my hand when I watch it so I can develop the buzz-in reflex; I wanna be on Jeopardy! some day...

So, game shows--TELL WHAT U THINK!!!

Jeopardy is where it's at. i hate stuff like wheel of fortune and all that, but jeeopardy makes me feel like being spart is fun, and i like being (moderately) smart.

tell me ianthegecko what part of school are you in? when i was in H.S. we had a High School Bowl team which was basically like a "sport" where you sat around and had trivia competitions and had playoffs at the end of the year. really good times.

I remember growing up and watching "The Price is Right" religiously. I also was a fan of "Press Your Luck." Nowadays, though, I rarely watch TV at all, let alone gameshows...

Kid's trivia shows. I can laugh at them when they get questions wrong, because it's so easy.

We have an Australian version of all you guys shows, except Jeopardy.

I think the idea for that show is ok, but the presenter down here is horrible. Euck! It totally puts me off the show...

We have this great music game show called "Spicks and Specks" after the Bee Gees song. It is so absolutely funny.
Each team always has the same captain, but each week they choose one musician and one comedian (it's great right now because we have the Comedy Festival) and do all different things like: one of them reads out words from a random book to the tune of a song and their teamates have to guess which song it is. Or trying to guess song played on a record player powered by one of the players on a bike.
It's hilarious.

We have an "Academic Bowl Week", but not like a quiz bowl thing. That would rock. I'm in Thespian Society myself, actualy.

ARGLEBAGEL! How could I forget TPIR? I miss Rod Roddy; Rich Fields sucks. He pronounced "Glasgow" as "glass-gow". *shudders*

SEAN'd, you'd like the US version; Howie Mandel is awesome. I like how he makes you think you're about to open a case or find out the bank offer, then he looks at another camera & says "When we come back".

That's now how it's pronounced? I've only ever read it, so I don't know...how is it supposed to be pronounced?

It's supposed to sound more like Glass-cow. It comes from it's Celtic origins.

Glasgow as in the town? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's glaz-go.

I like Jeopardy!, but my calc teacher hates it. See, he's been trying to get on (he'd probably win, since he's also our Quick Recall coach, and most of the Jeopardy! questions are pretty easy), but apparently after that test that you have to take, they pick people randomly. Which is pretty stupid.

I likes the Jeopardy, even though it makes me feel dumb most of the time. Wheel of Fortune on the other hand makes me feel smart. :) Deal or no Deal is pretty exciting. my dad gets really into it, like yelling at the tv into it. "NO WAY DON'T TAKE THE DEAL!!!!!"

I only watch Jeopardy and Price is Right... and Price is Right only if I'm home and awake at 10AM, which is rarely.

Price is Right pwns. Though I miss Rod Rodey. :-(

Deal or No Deal is really good too. Last night, somebody picked the million, but wigged out and said deal.

Two words: Match Game.

It was on once and I watched it. It was hilarious and addictive, and I need to watch it much more often.

I don't watch a lot of game shows, though.

I agree. But are you talking about the newer ones, or the one from the seventies.

OH MAN, I missed that one, too! I LOVED it!

I heard Ken Jennings was in a deal with Comedy Central on his own "WBSM"-style show. That would be roffle-icious.

I love Wheel of Fortune! I'm the Queen. Next to Vanna White, that is.
I also like to watch a lot of old game shows on the Game Show Network (maybe only a Canadian thing?) like The Love Connection, The Newlywed Game and Match Game. Family Feud also rocks my socks off.

got to love the Match Game from the 70s, that's the only way to go. Charles Nelson Reilly is the coolest, and i love how they can only get away with being sorta dirty but its still really funny.
