Yeah, you're probably right. It's tough to turn down millions of dollars. But their mainstream popularity is giving them a great platform for their political message, so, in my opinion, something good is coming of their "selling out". Another thing we've got to keep in mind is that "pop" is influenced a whole lot more by punk these days, so they're not really doing stuff that's all that different than it used to be. Don't get me wrong, their sound is different, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that they can afford better mixers/sound editors/whatever you want to call it. |

The Backstreet Boys rule. Actually, just the other day I was driving down my neighborhood's main street blaring Millennium. Good times. |

Black Eyed Peas. Just plain horrible. I'd say Green Day, but they don't really suck as a band. I'm just tired of seeing Green Day shirts and posters, and one of these days I'd like to pull the pin on that heart-shaped grenade and ask them to hold it for me. |

Very yes. 1. To get an accurate reading on Metallica listen to anything in the Cliff Burton age (Kill 'em All - Master of Puppets), if you don't enjoy some of their songs then it's safe to say that you may not enjoy Metallica as a whole. 2. Green Day was pretty pure punk around the time of Dookie, then their musical style "evolved" into something different. I can't really hold it against them, no musician serious or casual really can if they understand the process that goes into making music. They got bored with their style and then moved on, big deal. I do think that Dookie was a great album of theirs and I'm going to be calmly waiting for the day when they go back to their roots, however long that may take. |

You should here it, the thing it's scary. I have it for novelty value. A very Bad Band: System of a Down. Come on their drummer can't keep a tempo, every song soudns the same it seems like they're trying to be progressive but failing at it miserably. :runs and hides: |

Not every song sounds the same. For example, Chop Suey sounds nothing like Aerials. If you want to talk about a band that had every some sounding like each other, listen to Rage Against the Machine. |

I just remembered how much I hate it every time Chad K tries to sing. Nickelback seems to be an experiment in jamming as much innuendo as you can in a song and seeing how loud you can scream it. Or, less recently, singing stream-of-consiousness about the objects on your wall. |

They are pretty much the only metal band I like, and they aren't even metal most of the time. *goes onto itunes and purchases Spiders* And for you Green Day haters, have you no faith in them returning to their punk roots? EDIT: The drummer is one of the best ever. Read the wikipedia article |

On a more indie side, I can't stand My Bloody Valentine. I tried listening to them recently, and I can now say I have heard the most dischordant music ever. Now don't get me wrong: I love shoegaze, but I prefer Autolux or The Jesus and Mary Chain. But My Bloody Valentine is either a wall of noise, or a fallen wall of noise turned into rubble. Neither is any good. |

Darkthrone's earlier material I find incredibly dull. With an exception to the song 'Under A Funeral Moon' all of their tracks from the album of the same title and Transilvanian Hunger are just a grim mess. Thankfully their newer release 'The Cult Is Alive' is a vast improvement. Though they are far from the worst band in the band in the world. But to be brutally honest I find Trivium to be the most boring band i've heard in a long while. I love metal music and I can understand the appeal of such a band. But from what i've heard their output has all been done before, on albums far better than 'Ascendancy'. My final and most hated gripe is the fact that Hip-Hop is thought to be the discipline of 'artists' (and I use the term lightly) such as 50 Cent. Its sad that theres no mainstream recognition for decent rappers like MF Doom, Roots Manuva and Aesop Rock as well as the many talented DJ's such as Dangermouse, Peanut Butter Wolf and Madlib who provide them with top-class music. |

I think I'm going to take back (part of) the bad things I've said about slipknot. I found out that the lead singer of Stone Sour is in slipknot. I like what I've heard of Strone Sour. |

Poison sucked pretty badly. Nothing like pure crappy hair metal. I garauntee you put Poison up against a true metal band, they would get blown away. |

Greenday and Backstreet Boys are competing for the total **** award. And man I love pyrotechnics at concerts, especially if they hit the face of someone you hate. If I had a car (dam financial problems) then I'd do what I do in my friends car. Play Iron Maiden as loud as possible. |

Gah, why does everyone hate Green Day (which is 2 words, hint hint). American Idiot did take a step down in their music, but I'm sure they'll return to their punk roots. And by the way, Green Day had pyrotechnics at "Bullet in a Bible". |

Are you kidding? That song is hilarious! Just imagine the male singer as Hitler speaking during one of the big Nazi rallies, and you'll see what I mean. I find it funny anyways. |

I have to wonder why Hitler didn't ever have a severe coughing fit when he was yelling all the time. With that much yelling he must have coughed once. I would have laughed just before the Gestapo took me out. |
