For fans of the old EarthBound series, the sequel has finally been released in Japan as Mother 3. There are no plans on releasing it in the states, but I'm sure there will be enough feedback to the point where they'll make that decision. Is anyone else here really excited for it? EarthBound was pretty much my favorite game of all time, so I can't wait to see how they're going to expand on it. |

I never played, but I want to. Ness seems cool and all the people who have played it think it's awesome. So yeah. Bring here. |

D: THERE IS NO EMOTICON TO EXPRESS MY DESIRE FOR THIS GAME. But seriously, I've been looking forward to this game literally for YEARS now. The old Mother 2/Earthbound for SNES is still probably my favorite game ever, and from what I've seen the general opinion from the fans of that game is that Mother 3 is really, really awesome. I've been reading up on EVERY bit of info I can find about the game and it just makes me want it more and more. I'll wait until E3 (just when IS it this year anyway? I know it's usually the first week or two of May) and see if there's an official announcement of a US release then, and if not, I might go ahead and import it or something... though I'd much rather play in a language I can understand. :/ Maybe wait for a fan-translation then...

YAY! Earthbound owns. You. And you, too... I can't wait...
Oh and Saturn, do these express your desire for the game?
Link "Item get!" Pose
AGH! Mouth Yep, I made them
Sorry about the color on them though, for some reason whenever I make a smiley the color is dulled. |

I've got the ROM, but of course, I have no idea what it says. It's times like these that make me wish I was fluent in Japanese. |

Although, it is embarassing to admit, I haven't ever played an Earthbound game, but, his maps looked awesome on SSBM. And, I love any Nintendo game, no matter what. The only unfortunate thing is that I've never played Earthbound because I don't own an SNES... Wah... I only owned a Sega when I was a kid, and I absolutley loved those sonic games
It was unnatural, except, I love Zelda games more. More than... this laptop. Yep. |

It's an amazing game. You could always use an emulator to play it, they're relatively easy to use. |

It's free. And illegal. I think Nintendo may port it over to the US: you know they're taking chances. And Brain Age worked out so far. I think we'll be able to get it. |

I've never played it. The closest thing is playing with Ness in SSB. It sounds cool, though. |

Gigas is still my favorite in villian in the Earthbound series. His final dying speech still makes me feel uncomfortable. I've played only Earthbound for the SNES. And I must say this... GREATEST RPG EVER Starmen.net is currently trying to get the game over here in the United States. And I pray it does. There is hope, after Chibi-Robo and Brain Age made it over here ( which where two games I thought wouldn't make it ), there is a good chance.[/b] |

Starmen.net is awesome. I LIVE there... even though I don't actually post on the forums as much as I should
And yes, the final Giygas fight was just... liekWHOA. Creepiest final boss ever. Especially if you know the context behind most of his lines*. Not to mention the heavy metal battle music was rockin' cool. All the music in that game was amazing, though... easily my favorite game soundtrack ever.
* (and if ya don't... apparently the Giygas battle was based on a rather traumatic experience the creator of the Mother series had as a kid. When he walked into the wrong theatre as a kid, and ended up walking in on.. um... an adult movie. A very violent disturbing adult movie. Apparently all of Giygas' dialouge was taken right from the film, with all the "it hurts" and "it feels good" and whatnot. The more you know! *comet flies past*) |

It was such an intelligent game for its corniness. What really struck me at the end was how evil Pokey had become. I never figured it out though... did we kill him, or what? |

I never actually beat Earthbound... it's still lingering somewhere, with Ness and co. advancing on the darkified Onett. The final battle sounds really unnerving... the entire end of the GAME sounds extremely unsettling... I think I'm actually a little afraid to beat it. It's one of those games that manages to scare you witless by being so silly and cheeseball, and then it assaults you with something deep and its like "WHOAMG where did that come from?!" |

I tried playing Earthbound, but I can't stand that battle perspective... I mean, seriously, is it that hard to include battle animations? I want to see Ness pwn up. |

Bleh. I really want to play this game, (my friend has an SNES), but the only place I can find it is on eBay, and it costs, like, 50 dollars there. Is there any other legal way to play it, or will I just have to wait for the Revolution? |

Me and my friend have the best idea when we get the Wii: Download all the classic side scrollers and wait 'till SSBW comes out!
Oh yeah, I'm defenitly download Earthbound on my Wii. XD Umm, Toastpaint. |

Elaborate on this. You can download ROM's onto the Wii?! Or am I just misunderstanding...? |

Not exactly. You'll be able to buy games from the NES, SNES, and the N64. You know, this is Nintendo? They'll suck all the money out of your heart's weaknesses. |

There's only two "classic" games I feel the immediate need to get via Virtual Console, seeing as I have most of the other classics: Super Mario World and Super Metroid. Oh, and maybe an F-ZERO or two. That's the Nintendo series I always forget. Maybe I should play one or two so I don't feel so blank on them. By using Toastpaint, you had a very significant experience that cannot be understood by one who does not paint toast. |

I suppose we're just going to have to wait until E3 to see if they announce anything... and if not, nothing's going to hold me back from using a fan-submitted translation. |

I lol'd. ("Toastpaint" really does sound like something from Earthbound now that I think about it. I mean, that game did have Trout Yogurt and Eraser Erasers as items...) |
