Yeah. The coolest mod for anything ever. It lets you move, create, and edit just about anything In Half-Life 2. Well Yeah. Disscus. I enjoy making comics in it, it's rather fun.

Well, to see what it can really do, Check out this comic

Oh, and people who are fans already, check out Videos of the next Version. Which is going to cast 10$. Worth every Penny IMO.

And well, here is The place where You can download it

EDIT: oh, and swearing on them links.

-It's a pirated version

-You didn't install Garry's Mod 9 to c/Program Files/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/SourceMods

-Other then that, try checking your Steams Games menu. It should have an Icon there.

One thing Garry's mod has spawned is a plethora of fan-comics made by posing ragdolls in various environments. Arguable the best is Concerned, named for the writer of a letter to Dr. Breen read during the beginning of the game. You'd had to have played the game at least once to get some of the jokes, and if not, the creator has notes for most of the comics that explain things, 'cause he's a junky for commentary. The comic centers around a guy named Gordon Frohman, who arrives in City 17 a week before the other Gordon does. Unlike Freeman, Frohman likes City 17 a lot, and is a big fan of Dr. Breen. The tie-ins to the game are what make the comic so much fun to read, so if you haven't played the game, the comic probably won't appeal to you.

Anywho, the most I did with Garry's mod was to create massive destructive machines, including a robotic arm powered by rockets, and a HUGE carrousel of death (basically a big column with shipping containers attached to it by ropes, with rockets on the containers to make them shoot around the column). If you own HL2, get Garry's mod. Simple as that. At the very least, you'll have some fun screwing around with the facial editor.

EDIT: And Choc, it wasn't meant to be an SDK. It's merely a sandbox mod for spawning and editing the various entities in the game engine. Of course, merely is a relative term, as the things you can do with Garry's mod are pretty awesome.

so like, do you have to Edit things like Various Factors and positions using weir dangles and typing crap in that noone really knows? or is it just Point, Click, and Drag?

Haha, one of my first creations as well.

...Cept, it was with explosive barrels.

Oh, And Making a catapult to skeet shoot Ragdolls is pretty dang fun.

And glueing random crap together to create random retardery. Like so.

EDIT: Yeah COLA, pretty much. It's still a FPS, but you have a gun that allows you to pick up anything, move it, rotate it, and freeze it in any position. And...you have a menu you open up by pressing a button that lets you spawn stuff...and do alota other stuff. Look.

And look at the videos in the first post. It should give you a good Idea of what it looks like in motion (cept it's a newer version, and is alot sleeker)

EDIT: SIMUPOSTEDIT!

Well, you use an altered version of the game's Gravity Gun (a weapon of sorts that lets you pick up stuff and throw it, great with sawblades and exploding barrels) called the Physgun. It lets you grab parts of objects, rotate them, and lock them in place. There are other tools that let you do things like attach ropes, attach rockets or baloons, create cameras, spawn live NPCs, change AI behavior, alter facial expressions, alter gravity, view color (you can create some pretty psychadelic scenes with this), attach rotating wheels (rotation direction and speed can be controlled through menus, just like rockets, which are controlled using numpad keys). It's pretty comprehensive. It's pretty much anything BUT a map editor, but you don't really have to punch in numbers, at least, not that I know of.

How much does a copy of HL2 cost now adays?

Around $30, I think. Maybe less. Don't buy it on eBay unless it's unopened, as someone can easily use the CD code and repackage the game. Actually, you don't really need to buy the packaged game anyway, just set up a Steam account through the developer's website. Then, using a credit or debit card, you can purchase and download the game. Steam has gotten a bad rap (I personally can't see why), but digital distribution is the future of computer games. It allows small developers to bypass the giant publishers like EA, it doesn't involve any CDs or packaging, allowing for reduced costs, and I just think it's pretty darn cool.

Warning Everyone, When using the psysics gun, Do NOT press the reload button. All of your frozen objects will go back to their neutral position.

...Great, about an hour of poseing down the drain, like that.

EDIT: Can someone please explain to me what's with all the Brown haired cartoon guys? Like the kind Occasional JD and Cup of Coffe has?
