Now that my first year at the illustrious Stetson University is over, what should I do? I only have three more years to decide! I have narrowed it down to these options. For the CIA/Yankees options, I would go to law school first. For the HK/Remington option, business school.

We can't decide that for you. The only way for you to be the happiest is for you to pick th job. Choose the one you like the most. It may be hard, but you'll eb able to narrow it down.

Out of those, I have an aversion to the Air Force choice for some reason.

Though it's all up to you.

The Air Force Officer program is a good career choice. Military Officer careers are pretty good.
Don't go in for 4 years, though. The military is like WalMart. If you're gonna go far and make a career out of it, it's pretty good, but as a 5 or 6 year job, it's not worth much. I'm kinda giving the Air Force (45th Weather Squadron OR 53rd Weather Recon Squadron) some thought.

The CIA looks nice. I'm actually looking at them too. Granted, right now, I'm doing hurricane research, but the background I'm getting with Satellite-based remote sensing systems, programming, etc, I figure it'll be an easy transition.

I disagree with the "go for the money" statements some will tell you when it comes to a career. I say do what you enjoy. Sure, money is nice, but if you hate your job and you're miserable all the time, what's the point?

I know it sounds wierd, but I have also recently taken a shine to moving to Italy and producing Parmesiano Reggiano cheese. Build a pasture and a factory and start a company from the ground-up.

Wait, is it even possible to sign up for the CIA? I haven't done reasearch on it yet (gasp!) but I do recall a teacher saying that they come looking for you with the offer, not the other way around. I could, very possibly, be totally wrong on that. If I'm wrong, CIA sounds cool.

Oh, the CIA goes around to job fairs at universities. They are indeed very very picky about who they'll hire, moreso than most places. (Imagine that!) The kind of people they will hire (at least from software disciplines) are generally also being recruited by Google and Microsoft.

Your teacher is very misinformed... Unfortunately for most who want to work there, it's not all cloak and dagger stuff. There's a lot of office work to be done.

If you're OK with moving to Europe then you might wanna try British Intelligence (MI5 and/or MI6).

Naw, it was me that's misinformed. Yeah, what's up there is more or less what he said, now that I', looking at it. Heh, the problem was, we also watched The Recruit shortly thereafter, which muddled the facts a bit ^^;; Thanks
