I'm still a complete and utter SNES fangirl when you get right down to it... I had an NES before then, but it really belonged to my sister; the SNES was mine, all mine. :D It seems like a huge chunk of the games on my favorite-games-EVER list were for that system... ah, so many fond memories. ^^ I was going to list all the SNES games I really love but then I realized the list was getting way too long. XD;

I still have mine hooked up too. In the kitchen. So Mom can play Link to the Past on it.

EVEN MOMS LOVE SUPER NINTENDO. :D

My mom is more of an N64 gal. She doesn't play many video games, but she likes Mario. She and I used to race all the time at Mario Kart, which is just a great game no matter who you are.

One time I started playing "announcer" while my sister Sarah and her friend Cassie were playing. They nearly broke down laughing, and I ended up being the Mario Kart Commentator for the duration of their playing. Ah, 'twas fun. XP

I have had an NES my entire life. My dad bought it in 1985, the year it came out and the year before I was born. And it still works. And I still play it. (i think I need to get some of the connectors fixed though) It is my favourite system without a doubt, even with the most pain-inducing rectanlge controllers. Mario 3 is my favourite game ever, I love it so much I bought it again for GBA even though I still play the original all the time. I seriously have that game almost entirely memorized, and I speedrun it.
SNES I never had. N64 is only ten years old so I don't quite consider it a classic yet.

I remeber the days when I used to play megaman.... I was also the best at duckhunt. I could start backwards and spin around and get the ducks in one shot. I got to the point where its impossible to go farther cause its so bloody fast. I had an amazing score.

Oh, and the Q-Bert, gotta love a swearing alien thing. And Zelda, I sucked at it, and then Zelda 2, when I was young me and DG couldnt get it to work.

Hah, you're right. I remember going downstairs at midnight and finding my mom still awake playing Legend of Zelda or even Donkey Kong Country (awesome game).

I still think the music for Grass Land is the most catchy thing ever.

What are you talking about? Despite it's rather crude design (compared to modern controllers), the NES controller, in my opinion, has to be one of the best controllers I've had in my hands. It's true!

Funny. I bought the GBA version last week also just because what a great game it is. :)

<foxtrot> Hold on, Roger, I can't hear you over this stupid Donkey Kong music. </foxtrot>

My parents do their best to try and understand video games, but they're a bit... limited. Like the "force field" conversation I had with my dad, or the fact that I still have to explain the fact that his name is Link, not Zelda, to my mom.

I finally bought Golden Sun: The Lost Age yesterday. Yeah, I know, it's not that old a game, but I've been wanting it for-flipping-ever, and I'm really psyched to finally have it! I had to beat Golden Sun for the second time to get some good clear data (you know, all 28 Djinn and stuff), but it wasn't that hard. Wow, was Fusion Dragon really that easy? I remember getting by butt whupped by him a gazillion times my first playthrough. *grumbleton*

I also have to beat Twinmold in MM, another not-so-old game. It weirds me out to think that Tingle was only just introduced in that game, which is 6 years old... but he feels like he's been around forever.

Ahh... good ol Super Mrio Bros. Even though I was a mere > five years old at the time, that game ruled. I could never get past very many levels in it at the time. I do remember being rather good at Duck Hunt, at least by my standards.

You spoony bard! -Final Fantasy IV.

I am Error. -Zelda II: The Adventures of Link.

Say fuzzy pickles! -Earthbound.

Buy something will ya? -The Legend of Zelda.

Your friends, who are they? Do they, consider you as, a friend? -The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

I'm sorry Mario, but our princess is in another castle. -Super Mario Bros.

I just thought I would bring up some of my favorite classic quotes.

Playing a little today... man, you know what game was just G-E-W-D gewd? Mischief Makers. It was an old, sprite-based, side-scrolling platformer that looked almost a generation older than it really was. Its star was a peg-legged robot named Marina, whose special power was... shaking things. No, really. She could pick things up, shake them, and throw them.

IT WAS THE MOST INSANELY FUN THING EVER.

This game had a truly wonderful item called the Clanpot. You put items in it to carry them around. Not a big deal, right? But, if you shook the clanpot when it had items in it, you could make new items! Like you could turn four flowers into a shuriken, or two shurikens into a boomerang! Or four small bombs into a big Clanbomb, or even turn ordinary blue gems into special green gems, and green gems into the level's rare Yellow gem!

I can't possibly convey the greatness of this game in mere words. Seriously. If you find it, buy it.

Play an NES for 3 hours straight and play a Gamecube for 3 hours straight. I guarantee your thumbs will hurt more after the former.

Not when the rubber casing falls off the left joystick. I think it's sawing an incision into my thumb. >.>

The Wii is going back to its rectangular roots. :eekdance:

I played all sorts of the classic classics. Which are pretty much all (or most of) the NES/SNES Mario, Donkey Kong, Mega Man and Kirby games. Couldn't get Legend of Zelda because my mom didn't like me slashing animals with swords. Things were different back then. Tough times. :P

Heh, my NES is still in semi-regular use so that kind of kills the nostalgia trip. I remember when dad bought the the NES back in ye olde '87. He bought Star Voyager (so-so space flight simulator that still has one of the most awesome opening tunes) and Legend of Zelda along with SMB1 which came with the system.

My fondest memories were watching dad kick serious butt on half of our game library. He played the meanest game of Castlevania I have ever seen.

Ahh, yes, good ol' Error. We may never know the secret behind your quirky speech box, but we certainly loved the laughs.

Mmm, know what game I've got a hankerin' to play? Kirby's Super Star! It's been too long since I played that game last. I think I'm still missing a few treasures in the Great Cave Offensive...

You know what would be really neat? If they brought him back in Twilight Princess. You walk up to him, and he would say, "I am Error." Then he would say, "And this is my wife, Correct."
:p

Could we consider the GBA a classic system? I know it's still alive and all, but the system brought back the old age of gaming.

Does anyone remeber being absolutly shocked when you first played Super Mario 64? I thought the game was a dream.

I'm pretty sure ol' Error was actually supposed to be called Errol, as in Errol Flynn. Just some poor romanization... Or not, I dunno.

Ah, KSS. I used to invite my friends to play it together all the time. This game is, in my opinion, the best Kirby game. I still remember the first time I finished the Arena... Ah.
I wish Meta would make more appearances like in Meta Knight's Revenge. That minigame, if I can call it that, was really cool.

Personally, I'm really into Super Metroid right now. That game has a perfect atmosphere and the gameplay is dazzlemazing. It also has one of the coolest final battles of all time.

I dunno, it seems like a lot of work to go naming a useless character after a famous swashbuckler if he's not going to play any roll... and that's Flynn, by the way. ;)

Err, don't kill me for this, but I've never... actually... played... Super Metroid

GRAG! ARGLE! BARGLE! *viciously massacred by own avatar* OK! OK! I GET it, Sam! I'll go rectify this problem immediately and all that! Grumblemumbling avatars who grumblemumbling think they can grumblemumble their owners around...

Must...continue...to wait for virtual console download.

It's the only Metroid game I haven't played.

Edit: CT HAS NEVER PLAYED SUPER METROID????

Anyways, I guess you're right about it being pointless, but it could still be some kinda Errol. I just used Flynn, no, wait, Flynn as an example. But nevermind.
Hmm, I wonder what it says in the Japanese version...

The only games I've ever been able to play for more than five minutes have ALL been for the SNES. That thing rules.

This cake that I am baking for you has nothing to do with my desire to know from whence you illegally obtained the services of a certain bounty hunter whom I happen to feature in my avatar. Nope. Not at all.

...But seriously. I do not condone such actions. Said the pot to the kettle. ><

I'll just wait for the virtual console (legally) like everybody else...

Incidentally, concerning my avatar, I found out what the whip/gun/laza sword is supposed to be. It's actually a variant on the Grapple Beam! Hrrrm.

The Grapple Beam is one of several reasons Super Metroid ranks low on the Metroid list in my opinion. That thing was freakin' annoying. Aside from some really good graphics and a couple of neat ideas, the game just never really impressed me.

Funnily enough, the graphics never really impressed me when stacked up with other SNES games like Yoshi's Island or Kirby's Superstar--they just looked muddy, smudgy, and ugly. On the other hand, it's enjoyable.
