Do you mean to say like? If so, Simple Plan...*eye twitches* not my style.

Simple Plan... heh.

I actually can't name a Simple Plan song. I probably shouldn't be here...

I can't stand Simple Plan. I hate their style of music(emo) and they don't sing very well.

I dislike Simple Plan. YOu knowyou're getting desparate when oyu're doing a theme song for some crappy scooby doo remake. Hmmmmm....Seems only one person on tis whole forum likes Simple Plan. It keeps getitng better and better.

Eh, I don't like them. Not because they're emo (Oi oi, I like that genre of music).. just.. because... they suck.

Don't worry though, I'm sure there'll be a few on the board who likes them.. right? *nudges everyone else*

Simple Plan, to me, seems the whiniest band around today. Whenever I've heard one of their songs, it's all along the lines of "I can't believe this happened to meeeeeee.....". The theme gets old quickly.

I oculd never figure out emo. A whole musical genre/subculture/whatever the crap it is entirely based on being whiny. Why?

I don't understand it either. Why can't we have happiness instead? Why can't people just listen to artists with happy, uplifting music like The Beatles?

"Dad,you didn't buy me a car for my birthday,
So now I hate you...
You woldn't make taco's for dinner,
So it's obvious you don't love me!
I'm cutting myself..."

Typical Simple Plan lyrics...

I suppose my conception of the beatle's music is somewhat different from yours. Although, I suppose I am thinking more about their later stuff. Happy? Uplifting? Not really two words I would use to describe them.

Better than emo? Lol... did I really just ask that?

Are they the "welcome to my life" band? Or the ones who sing about indecision to call you? And hear your voice of treason? Something something stop this pain tonight? Stop this pain tonight? You're just a voice inside myyyy yyyyheeaad!

I guess I was referring more to their early music, with songs like "Love Me Do", "From Me To You", "She Loves You", "I Want To Hold Your Hand", etc.

Their later material isn't nearly as happy, but they still have song like "All You Need Is Love", "Hello Goodbye", "Hey Jude", "Let It Be", etc.

But the songs that aren't nearly as happy (such as "Yesterday") aren't really emo. I'd describe it as meaningful and thoughtful.

John Lennon & Paul McCartney wrote:
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it look as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Oh, yesterday came suddenly

Why she had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Why she had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh, I believe in yesterday

That's poetic, and it actually says something worth a read.

I'd use emo to describe artists who seem to thrive on being whiny and sad all the time.

I think the major difference is the word "whiny" :)

I love the Beatles. I mean... really really really love the Beatles. But this isn't really a topic about them. so... errr

Forgive me if I missed sarcasm or anything, but I believe Simple Plan are the guys who wrote 'Welcome to my life' and the latter would be Blink 182.. (Not Emo'd!)

Okay, that's enough, juys. If you don't like Simple Plan, don't post in this thread. This is a thread to discuss the band. If you have something valid to say, go nuts. But if you're just going to post "I hate emos!!!111" don't bother. Please.

I am well aware that this isn't a topic about The Beatles, but it kinda drifted in that direction.

But anywas, on the topic of Simple Plan... yeah... I don't like them...

Sorry, but we're going to express our opinions whether you like it or not. Creating a thread about something is going to attract both lovers and haters of whatever it is you created a topic about.

Expressing opinions = fine.

Just being malicious for the sake of it = not fine.

I'm not trying to be malicious, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but I happened to notice this topic on Simple Plan, and I decided to give my two cents worth. I do not see what I'm doing wrong here.

wah wah my parents don't liek me even though I moved out and am selling millions of record. BOO FREAKIN HOO. Talk baout being deceptive to make money. All the things they write seem to be written by a 10 year old child who didn't get the present they wanted for their birthday. The guitar parts are your de facto pop-rock stuff toned-down mildy distorted powerchord with a seesion-recored solo maybe thrown in to try to attract real music fans. You cannot even hear the Bass, it iseems liek the have one just to add another person for the "OMGISH He's so totally qute I want to by thur albim!!11" affect. People say boy bands aren't around anymore. Well they are they just have black hair, guitars are psuedo-angst. I find it more believable that The New Kids On The Block are "Hangin' Tough" than Simple Plan has a bad life. Think you life is a nightmare eh Mr. Spiked Black Hair? You could get any girl you want, go anywhere you want have anythign you want and you complain about having none of the above! Stop abusing your influence on young minds. Even if you have crappy music atleast put some meaning into your lyrics, atleast crap liek Greenday tried to have a decent political message. Then you go and ty to pull yourselves off as Punk ey? Well I'll tell you right now, I would love to see Glenn Danzig, Iggy Pop, Joe Strummer, and Henry Rollins kick the living crap out of you while you hope your beating gives your hired song writers subject to write about.

After the fourth or fifth spelling/grammatical error I stopped reading. If you are going to "diss" someone (or thing), you ought to at least take the time to make it readable... It would also be worth your time to listen to the mods when they suggest that you do, or don't do, something.

Sorry I went a little out of control. Music is really all I have in life and I don't like to see people run it into the ground. Next time I'll have more self-control. (and grammar check)

First of all, I wasn't speaking specifically to you; I just didn't really like the way this thread was going.

Second of all:
