My brother told me some story that's supposed to have actually happened where a scientist had his own head cut off by his assistant so his assistant would measure the amount of times the eyes on the decapitated head would blink before it was fully dead. The report was 22 blinks.

This made me go "What the crap?!" twice--once when I heard it, and the second time when I couldn't find anything like it on Snopes.com.

That's almost true: it was a LONG time ago, and the professor type (can't remember who he was or even if he actually was a professor type) was about to be guillotined as a criminal, and asked a friend to count...

I was watching "Untold Stories of the ER" and it told a story about this guy who walked casually into a 7-11 with a knife stuck in his head. This definately made me go "what the crap?!".

Goodwill is a charitable organization that helps people every day, but everyone finds it socially unacceptable to go anywhere near one.

Cat + Ceiling fan...
Before you go all "OMG ANIMAL CRUELTY!!" on me, the cat is ok.
I've heard that this is is looped and that the audio is dubbed. Either way, it's funny (because at the very end, you see the cat get up and start to run off)

I remember seeing that commercial when it actually aired. We used to yell "PEAHATS!!" all the time.
Freaky.

Thank Bob for word-of-mouth, that's how! But I hear what you're saying. This combined with the "rapping" commercial with the pasty geeks should've made that game a bigger bomb than E.T.! (The game, not the movie.)

While we're on the subject of video game commercials, check out this truly inexplicable Canadian commercial. If you watched it with the sound off (and without that little sidebar to tell you), you'd have no idea what it was for, since it shows no gameplay footage, box art, or much of anything actually having to DO with the game. It barely mentions it by name once. Without sound or sidebar, you'd probably think it was some anti-drug PSA.

While it seems strange or dumb to you, you have to remember that consumers viewed that ad through eyes of 1988. That commercial was "cool" back then. Now, yeah, it's kinda dumb.

Yeah. He sounds like he's been breathing helium as well!

I SERIOUSLY doubt it could be cool no matter WHEN it aired.

That's the whole idea, and I think it's hilarious. Take it from a Star Wars Galaxies widow. Sometimes it really does feel like your loved one has died.
