I love The Tick. I have ever since I was little and would wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch it and then go back to sleep. :P Well, after much waiting, the series will finally be released on DVD. But, there is a downside. First of all, it's not the complete 36 episode long series, just the first season. There would be nothing wrong with that, except Disney isn't including one episode due to some "legal issues." I'm gonna steal a phrase from ol' Homestar and say "that's bupkis!" If they're going to advertise the DVD set as the whole first season, then it'd better be the whole first season!

I guess my point is are there any other Tick fans out there who are ticked (heheh, I made a funnie) off about this and would like to help me in working to get this missing episode added on? I'm thinking maybe an online petition or something, though I've heard those don't work too well.

Yeah, I loved me some Tick back in the day. Looking back on it, I'm not sure it's exactly a "for kids" cartoon. Some weird stuff.

Some of my favorite episodes:

- The one with the Swiss Army. Man, those knives can do everything!

- The one with all the historical inventors, including Herr Gutenberg, Thomas Edison, Leonardo Da Vinci, and George Washington Carver. "If I could just get my hands on those peanuts, I'd have us out of here in a jiffy!"

- The one where Tick and Arthur get kidnapped by aliens. "It's the Infinity Ball!"

- The one with the giant flower. "You'd shoot a guy out of a cannon, wouldn't you?" "Depends on the guy!"

I actually have three favorites from each of the three seasons.

Season 1: Dinosaur Neil,The Uncommon Cold, Arthur's Bank Account

Season 2: Armless But Not Harmless, Bloomsday, HEROS

Season 3: That Mustache Feeling, Dot and Neil's Wedding, Tick vs. Arthur

Arthur's my favorite character, btw.

"If you're so evil, then eat this kitten!"

I find the show to be odd and out of place, but my brother and my dad both adore it.

I really cannot see why.

I was able to see maybe two episodes of the Tick (cartoon) when it originally aired. Then my town lost it's Fox affiliate. So I completely missed out. What I saw was awesome and I really hope this makes it onto DVD one day.

There are places where you can order bootleg DVD's. From what I understand, they are complete, but they are produced from TV recordings and probably aren't good quality picture wise.

However, rumor is that Disney is planning on releasing them within the next year or so. We'll have to wait and see, though. Truthfully, considering the success of Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, and King of the Hill, I really don't see why Fox hasn't released them already.

I remember him at some Taco Bell thing, and I think I watched part of one episode on Toon Disney (he was turned into a two headed bird or something). One site that's good to get introduced to the Tick is this one. So, for a person that hasn't actually seen that many things about the Tick...me...SPOOOON!

Oh man I love The Tick. But not the live-action one. C'mon, Batmanuel? The fake American Maid whose name I can't remember? Poo.

My favourite episodes are the one with El Seed and the one where we get to see Sewer Urchin's apartment. And the Ottoman Empire one. I used to know a guy named Guy who was, essentially, Sewer Urchin. And yes, I understand that he was also, essentially, Rain Man.

So it's coming out on DVD, eh? That's grand news. I'ma snatch that up as soon as I see it.
Anyone know which episode is missing?

Recap: At the present time, it is not known which episode is missing, nor is it known what the legal wranglings are that are holding it up.

I really loved the Tick back in the day, but I don't remember much of it anymore. Too much Freakazoid and Animaniacs, combined with a healthy dose of Tazmania and Eek the Cat I suppose.

Remember the one where Tick and Arthur fought Venus and Milo? And they lost their arms? I'LL GET YOU, PLUNGER MAN!!

Oh, and the Christmas episode! "Like a big blue salmon of Justice, swimming up river to the very spawning grounds of evil!"

Ah, those were the golden days of absurd cartoons.

As to the legal issues, I would guess that some voice actor from that episode decided to be a jerk...

My favorite episode ever was when they were fighting the gingerbread men.

I just found out that the missing episode is The Mole Men. I guess Marvel copyrighted the term "molemen" some time after the epiosde was made. The episode is still aired on Toon Disney though. Disney did mention the possibility of adding it on a later release, so that means they're also planning on putting seasons two and three out. Yayness!

In a related subject, how about Freakazoid? Anybody watch that show?

I used to like that show, along with Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, and Pinky and the Brain.

Man, when I was little cartoons were so great and funny. These days, it's mostly crappy stuff that tries anything to get a cheap laugh. Kids these days wouldn't know a good cartoon if it whapped them in the head with a wrench.

Now I sound like an old person.
