I don't think Sony has their priorties straight. Like someone else mentioned, Sony is marketing way too much towards things like Blu-Ray disc technology and did I hear something about transactions online? What, buying stuff... banking? lol. Not sure. I have only seen one game I want to play so far on the PS3, and it was merely a preview, not playable footage. That, my friends, is Metal Gear Solid 4. Otherwise, I'm not seeing anything that makes me go WOW. I'm not going to pay $600 for it anyway, I'll wait until it goes down in price. What games are there really to play on it? Plus Sony basically copied Nintendo's idea when they implemented motion sensing into their controller. Say what you will, but you've got to see that they are desperate. Obviously... whatever ideas they have or don't have... is getting them worried about their competition. Microsoft's killer online service and dashboard system. Nintendo's unique Wii controller. This places Sony as merely the most expensive system with Blu-Ray. Which I don't care about. Sony's marketing this thing as a means merely to make them money. By trying to get Blu-Ray out there so they can dominate the market with it. Things like that are their focus. Gran Turismo is fun and all, but there's nothing really unique about the HD version. Now. Having said that. Nintendo's games look different. I want to play Super Mario Galaxy, it looks weird. But ya know, weird is different and different is better than the same old thing. Nintendo's titles are sometimes pretty dumb, and sometimes they are not, but they're usually fun regardless. N64 wasn't really a "kiddie" system, as Nintendo has been pegged as being lately with their GameCube. The GC didn't have good titles merely because it wasn't as successful as the N64, therefore many third party companies didn't support it. If Nintendo could get a handle on the market like they used to have they'll certainly have a larger variety of good titles on Wii. Games are what make or break any system. X360 doesn't have a LOT of stellar titles, but it has more than the PS3 has going for it thus far. I'm not really sure what to think of it all. I'll buy probably every system eventually. I usually wind up doing that anyway. But PS3 offers little to make me buy it. The PSP is a beautiful system, but I don't see any games I really HAVE to have to make me buy it. I wish there were, because I kind of want the PSP. But what am I to do with a handheld video game system without any real good GAMES to play? $600 priced consoles have never made it. Things like the 3DO, long forgotten consoles that nobody would buy. Not just because of that price, but lack of games. Games come from support from third parties. If nobody buys the console, they won't make them because they can't sell them. If Sony could just focus more on just making some awesome games with the highest potential that console crank out, they might be able to justify such a high price. So far I see no reason at all to buy a PS3. Their font choice is even stealing from themselves. Anybody seen Spider-Man lately?
THINGS SONY STOLE: 1.) Nintendo's Wii Controller Idea 2.) Microsoft's Dashboard idea 3.) Microsoft's multiple price point console idea 4.) The Spider-Man movie font (Columbia Pictures/Sony own the movies) That's all I can think of for now. And who really cares to use their PSP as a rear view mirror. You know, you can just put a little box in the bottom corner of the screen you could toggle on/off. Man. I am making myself not want to buy a PS3 at all. |

Ok, it started out having good points (with the contradictory gimmicks and stupid car games) but then it started just plain being stupid and repeating the same footage over and over. Haha, Historic Crab battle. That's the most embarressing thing ever. Oh, and calling Real-Time weapon switching a new idea,

"attack his weak point for massive damage" O RLY?! I would have never thought of doing something like that! Seriously, that guy who was talking about the ancient japan game didn't prepare his speech and made things up as he went. Notice how he pauses right before he says weapon change. Anyway, something that's always bugged me about Sony is how they feel the need to add a bunch of unnessicary features, like the ability to play DVDs and music. Sure it's nice to have, but it's not needed on a game system. Before anyone starts, I know that Nintendo has it's fair share of gimmicks, but a least their gimmicks add something to their games. Has the ability to play DVDs ever enhanced your gaming experience? Didn't think so. No, I'm am not obssessed with innovation and I do not hate Sony. I'm actually planning on getting a PSP for my birthday. I'm just sick of Sony turning their consoles into swiss army knives.(Yes, I know Microsoft is guity of this too.) |

The PS2 totally dominated the video game market.Wikipedia wrote: PlayStation 2 dominated sales, with over 100 million units shipped to retailers.. Xbox was a distant second, with 22 million units, according to the latest available official figures, and Nintendo was third with 20.61 million GameCubes sold. The Sega Dreamcast is thought to have sold roughly 10 million consoles despite its shorter lifetime.
So when it came time for the 7th Generation, XBox got scared when they heard Sony's original release date for the PS3. So what did they do, they bumped theit release date to November 2005, a full 5 months before the PS3's original date. |

I can't wait to see the Wii version of this movie. It'd be almost too easy... intercut any time they talk about cutting-art graphics quality with shots of the Virtual Console, don't mention that the Virtual Console is intentionally oldskool. Intercut any comments about the controller with a shot of someone waving the thing around, without any context as to what game they're playing. Man, this thing writes itself. |

I wanna see Giant Crabs in RIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge Racer! Oh, and there's this. You know, most enemy's have weak points that you attack for massive damage. That really isn't very inovative. And I've already done real-time weapon-change in Metroid Prime. But that movie was a bit incorrect. The PS3 will have FF XIII. I would love to try that game out. |

Power Crunch wrote: The GC didn't have good titles merely because it wasn't as successful as the N64 I agree and disagree with you. The gamecube's problem was all of their good games came out at once, within the first year or two of its launch. After it lauched, they didn't make many more good games, with the exceptions of the Metroid games and some other games.
The one thing I hope is that the Wii doesn't have the same problem. They need to pace themselves, or they can just make more good games and don't worry about the game ratings. In my opinion, a seven year old kid shouldn't be worried about playing video games anyway. And the way kids are today, the system is too fragile for you to keep it around small children. |

They said Nintendo shot itself in the foot with the GameCube. If that's so, Sony's freaking taking a machine gun to it's body with the PS3 and its price tag. HipHoppityFrogOfValue wrote: Okay...Would people stop flaming freaking Sony. Please. At least Sony's graphics ACTUALLY LOOK like things in REAL LIFE. No, I don't want some cheapo unrealistic eyes-too-big Anime crap from Nintendo; I want something that actually looks real. And PS3 delivers. My only problem is its price, which will surely go down if few people buy it. I really don't understand what all of these crazy Nintendo people are on about; the graphics of Sony are clearly more realistic, it's obvious. Just these crazy people who are jealous of Sony's success who feel the need to flame anything popular. Gawd.
So you're saying that the PS3 is infinitely superior to the Wii based on REALISTIC GRAPHICS? And that we're crazy because we believe that the Wii will be a better system? Well, I've got news for you. Realistic does not always equal good. For any real video game fan and not a casual fan, gameplay is what makes a system good. Why do you think the N64 beat the original PlayStation? Besides, the graphics of Nintendo are plenty good as well. I defy you to say that the graphics of Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy are not good. And if you define "good" as being "realistic", then there's something seriously wrong with you. If you want real, go outside. Now, you're going to blame my post on my being a Nintendo fanboy. Which is true, I'll admit. HOWEVER, I am not an extreme fanboy. I have tried almost all the systems that are out there. And every time, Nintendo comes out on top for me. So don't say I'm aimlessly defending Nintendo because I'm a fan. I'm defending it because from what I've seen, the Wii is better than the PS3. |
