I am sick of... Senseless Console Wars... Seriously, I can't stand it when people flame one or two consoles and cling to their favorite saying its the best.
I also don't like the argument some fans make: "I don't care about graphics I care about gameplay"... there are GOOD games with GOOD gameplay for EVERY system if you just take the time to look.
Personal Taste is what should help you in buying games and systems, my personal taste tells me to go with sony and microsoft, since I don't like enough nintendo games to justify buying nintendo.
And I know that enough people on here prefer nintendo that I am probably in a minority here, "to each his own", I iust want to say that I hate console wars and topics that start console wars, all they do is get people mad.

There, that's my two cents, if this topic is locked I don't really care, I just wanted to get it off my chest.

I don't know why everyone that doesn't take part in a console debate hates them with such a burning passion. They're nothing but debates. Debating whether Sony or Nintendo is better is no different than debating whether Pepsi or Coke is better. Or whether PCs or Macs are better. They each have their own qualities and flaws. And just like any other debate, there are people who will side with one side and not compromise. And like other debates, there will be people who realize that each one has it's own qualities.

"Console Wars" are nothing more than debates. People need to realize that. Why they treat them with extra malice is beyond me.

If you don't like the debates, just ignore them. I know that the greatest console is super nintendo, so I just laugh at people who fight over which console is best. =o)

Read A little closer, I said "Senseless" console wars, I'm not against a debate, flaming is what I can't stand, and flaming happens a lot in debates. I have taken part in debates before, just not very often because I figure saying what I think about consoles will likely never change the person's mind anyways.

I'm really sick of everyone making fun of Sony for that massively edited video. I'm trying my hardest not to use terms that I don't agree with for negative terms when I'm talking about this, so i'll just say stupid.

It's incredibly stupid making fun of something that was heavily edited when you know it(or should mnow it.) RIIIIDE RACER! was a joke. The guy who said attack it's weak point for massive damage was trying to say something so it wouldn't be boring.

So to all of you who make fun of it and realize that the video isn't what it really is - (insert something similar to the act of head soaking here.) You can scratch Noid off of your friends list.

Oh, and one more thing - everyone gets in a blind fury when i say I've never tried the other tihngs and don't like them, but here's a question to everyone who mocks it, or any Nintendo fan: have you tried the playstation?

That's what I thought.

Same here. And there's a lot of great games only available on the PS systems.

Katamari, ICO, Kingdom Hearts, Monster Rancher, Loco Roco, Mercury... just to name a few really good ones.

And I still prefer Nintendo, too.

My guess is that it's the enormous amount of hypocracy and sheer idiocy that happens in them.
Mention you love microsoft on a forum, you get flamed. Mention you love a 360, and most of those people who flame you for loving Microsoft fall in love with you.
As for idiocy, I hear a lot of "ZOMG THE <console that hasn't come out yet> IS TEH SUCK. I'M GOING TO BUY THE <other console that hasn't come out yet> BECAUSE IT'S OBVIOUSLY BETTER! ANYONE WHO SAYS ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY DESERVES TO DIE FOR BEING STUPID!1!ONE!!!!11!1!!!"

It's especially funny when you realize that they're fighting about two game systems which they've not even played yet (or at least one neither has played).

I think Final Fantasy VII is the greatest game ever made, and that was on the Playstation. Heck, I even own a PS2.

The console wars will die down eventually. 4-5 years from now. By that time, Windows Vista and DirectX 10 will have debuted, massive leaps forward for PC gaming, along with Live Anywhere, a cross-platform version of XBox Live, which will allow PC users to browse for any multiplayer game with one utility, as opposed to GameSpy Arena and XFire, which aren't universally supported. PC game installation will be simplified and streamlined, giving console-like functionality in terms of games, so you will pretty much be able to just put in a disk and play off the bat (of course, PC hard-drive technology will be capitalized on, storing game data sorta like persistant RAM I think). Doomcriers have predicted the death of PC gaming for a long time, but thanks to Mr. Gates and company, it'll do just the opposite. Too bad it'll take some time.

If you looked at the debates here, you'd see that with about two or three exceptions, there's pretty much none of that.

Unless you're talking about some other website, in which case I kindly ask you not to judge all debates as being that way.

You asked why people hate the console debates, I'm giving my reason. Here, things have been somewhat mild, mainly because the ranting/raving fanboy posts usually result in a locked thread.
I'm not judging all of the debates to go the way I described, but I AM calling them the way I see them. It's a result of the vocal minority skewing my opinion.
Maybe if there were more "OMG! I JUST DON'T KNOW WHICH TO CHOOSE! YOUR <system that hasn't come out yet> MIGHT BE BETTER THAN <another system that hasn't come out yet> BUT I STILL PROBABLY WON'T BUY IT. NOTHING AGAINST YOUR FAVORITE, BUT I'VE ALWAYS LIKED THINGS MADE BY <manufacturer of said "another system">, SO I THINK I'LL STICK WITH THEM. IF YOUR SYSTEM TURNS OUT TO BE BETTER, I MIGHT BUY ONE OF THOSE TOO!!!!111!!!ONEONE!!1!!! " posts, I would have a less negative opinion of the "console warriors". Said opinion might be higher if said "warriors" had played the other consoles, too.

I too am sick of this dumb console wars! I mean, every console has it's annoying fanboys who have nothing better to do except bashing the consoles they don't own. And they usually bash them for stupid reasons. I personally think it's the Nintendo fans that do most of the bashing because Nintendo isn't as popular as it once was and they are afraid that Nintendo will go out of business. As a Nintendo fan myself, I personally don't think Nintendo is going anywhere, even if the Wii doesn't do well. Anyway, the main reason that I perfer Nintendo is that they have more games that interest me. Sure there are games on the other systems that interest me, but if I'm going to spend over $100 on a system, I want to get my money's worth.
Yes, I have tried other systems. I once had PS1, my brother owns a PS2, and I've thought about getting PSP for my birthday.

But by then we might have quantum processing, and probably PCs that hook up to our brains, allowing us to download information to our brains (BRAINS I SAY), making my 13 years of education completely and utterly pointless. You could have a 6 year old kid knowing how to maintain and operate a Boeing 747 AND fly it to any point on earth. Crazy.
