Well of course they have the 4th of July in England.
The correct question would be "Do they celebrate Independence Day in England?"
The correct responce would be "no".
Why would they celebrate the infamous day of Colonial Treason? :p

I didn't see the trick question, but was my responce enough to make up for that?

Looks like it should be a packed day. We've got World Cup, a Shuttle Launch (around 2:30 PM EST), and then I'm gonna play me some FIFA World Cup 2006 on XBox 360. It's probably one of the best soccer games I've ever played. The learning curve is steep, though. I played for a solid 3 hours to learn the controls. It's a good game, though.

I'll just have to remember to switch over to the launch. Should be a blast.

Heh, heh.

I wish we could have gotten more fireworks, but my parents don't want us to have loud explosions because it scares our dog.

My parents tried that on me once. I told them that the dog would be scared by the neighbors fireworks anyway. Despite a good counter, I still lost the argument somehow.

Anyway, happy blowing stuff up in the name of independence everybody!

Not the "kaboom" kinda blast, more like the "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! THIS RULES!!!" kinda blast.

Actually from what has been shown tonight, our dog isn't afraid of our neighbors fireworks, it seems to only be when we set them off. It seems like he might be afraid we might get hurt.

I'm going to be watching Macy's Fireworks tonight at 9PM. And then at 10PM, I'll be listening to the soundtrack from Cedar Point's 4th Of July Fireworks.

The Declaration of Independence was signed on this date. The Constitution wasn't made until September 17, 1787, and didn't go into effect until March 4, 1789.

In regards to somebody bringing up England's education on America.. well, let's just say there isn't too much of it going on...

Have a good day everyone! Enjoy the fireworks and all that fo' shizzle and think of me being completely bored. =)

I went out of state to buy a crud-load of Fireworks [s]Lester[/s]
144 Bottle Rockets with reports
20 Bottle Rockets with no reports
20 or so multi-shot Roman Candles
50 m-88 Silver Bullets
and a 500 gram 54 shot Jupiter Missile.

I have a few mortars left over from last year and 12 bricks of firecrackers.
Its gonna be great.

I just got done lighting off bottle rockets, but outside you can hear a steady stream of explosions.

While my family and our neighbors were lighting off rockets, these people a couple houses down had the big stuff. Like, the large flowery exploding cannon things. One of them went awry and detonated right above the deck we were all sitting on, and we got showered with sparks. It scared the crap out of me, but luckily nobody got hurt. Crazy stuff.

I didn't have any firecrackers and all my friends live in another state, so I thought this this year's Independance Day would be quite dull for me...

...Oh, was I in for a surprise. This town has a fireworks show every year just a few blocks away from my house.

I still miss my friends and the thrill of almost blowing myself up, but today turned out better than I thought it would.

Fireworks here in NY, unless by a trained professional, are illegal. So none for me this year. But that doesn't stop my neighbors.

I'm pretty sure it's technically the same way here in Kentucky, but nobody really cares about it. Salutory neglect ftw!

In Kentucky, everything that goes up in the air, explodes, or shoots fireballs is illegal. Of course, unless you're in a particularly strict law enforcement area or you're causing trouble, they won't do anything to you. I had a state trooper stop at my house one New Year's while we were putting on a show to rival a small war. The only thing he did was ask me if we'd seen some guy he was looking for. Yay for Eastern KY!.

OK, I'm all about celebrating and such, but fireworks at 11:15 PM is starting to get old.. Some of us have to work tomorrow. :-(

I swear, if this doesn't stop, I may have to pop in FIFA World Cup 06 and play a couple games.

Woohoo! Happy Fireworks, everybody!

I just got back from a boring soccer game, some good dinner, and buying towels. They are orange towels. I also bought graham crackers and ice cream yesterday, so I will probably make ice cream sandwiches tonight.

After that, I dunno. We still have some Morning Glories that we've had for ages and ages, so we will probably do Morning Glories and Cold Ones later.

Sweet.

Hehe, the concept of this is real funny. "OMG! It's 4th of July! I'll celebrate by sitting at home on my computer posting!" I love Fireworks. I love exploding my old homework. That's what the 4th of July is about! Exploding old Schoolwork. Except I don't understand why we rebelled against Britain because of taxes, if we made taxes again. Plus we drove out the Native Americans. The Brits made all land beyond the Appalachian Mountains Native American territory. Y'know what's funny? American Idiot was on the radio.

The problem wasn't taxes, so much as the fact that we had no power to say what happened here. Ever hear "Taxation without representation"? The problem was that colonists were forced to pay taxes on commodities they used, but they were granted no representation in parliament.
