This is just a thread to discuss all things Fire Emblem. Strategy, spoilers, (must note that you are about to post a spoiler before typing it), classes, characters, etc, etc.

Alrighty, who else thinks that Ephraim is the best lead character in all of the American realeses?

i already made a thread about this but it didnt pick up, but i will let you have it.

And yes Ephiram is the awsome man, my favorite person in Sacred Stones is Ewan because I turn him to a Druid.

and my favorite in Path of Radiance are: Boyd, Astrid, Rolf, and Rhys.

Yeah, Ewan rules.

My favorites from Radiance are Boyd, Ike, Titania, and Muriam

I dont like Titania because she starts off so high and at the beginning i waste a lot of experiance on her when i should put it to others.

As for those pesky sub-humans, i dont use them much because i hate it when they turn human when they are surrounded and then they die.

Yeah, but if you got Muriam, he came with this cool thing that lets Laguz stay in laguz form forever.

yes, but that lowers his stats :(
i prefer they steady, reliable beorc.

P.S. this got me exited. I always wanted to use Sothe, but in Path of Radiance you were better off using Volke because he could change classes while Sothe couldnt.

OMG SOTHE! I never really used him, but he was cool. They had a little bit of concentration on him in the info conversations. He had the potential to be a cool character, and now he is.

I think Elliot (Is that his name?) from the first one sucked, and Lyn wasn't that great, but when she got her class change she ruled the school. And I like Erk just for his personality.

Eep. So many back and forth posts.

Anyway, my knowledge of Fire Emblem is pretty much limited to Super Smash Bros. Melee. Marth and Roy 4EVA!!!

Those guys are a japan only release. I think Roy is Elliot, though.

Hello there, all. To clear things up:

Marth: First and third game. Japan only.

Roy: Sixth game. Japan only. Eliwood's son.

Eliwood: Seventh game, first in the US. Roy's father. His name is not Elliot and he doesn't look all that much like Roy, darnit.

Now that that's out of the way, what new features do you want continued in FE 10? I, personally, think that the removal of the class-up items was a great idea, and that supports happening at a base made more sense than wasting turns having them sit next to each other. On the other hand, Biorythm didn't seem to have much of an effect on gameplay. Mounted units moving after an attack should be continued. I'd really like the Valkyries to be un-nerfed and get their magic back. Or troubadours could make a reappearance, and clerics could promote to bishops as usual. The skills aren't a new feature, exactly, but they are new to the US, and I could go either way on them. Some, like Aether, are awesome, and some (Corrosion) are not as awesome. They do add another factor for determining whether to use a unit, which is always cool. Bonus experience, I have no real opinion on.

There - that's all I have to say.

Yes, but when you haven't seen the Japanese game, he has the possibility to be the Japanese version.

On another note, I wish I lived in Japan. They sure have a lot of Fire Emblem.

And there, appaently there's a consistency. Our games have completley unrelated, until now. The next game has Sothe. Go Sothe!

No, no. Roy actually appears at the end of Blazing Sword as a child. He is definitely a seperate person from Eliwood. And even if you haven't played Fuuin, it still exists.

http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvan ... _trans.txt

English script for Fuuin. They're different people.

As for consistency? The first and the third games were in the same universe, the fourth and the fifth were, the sixth and the seventh were, and now the ninth and the tenth will be. Fire Emblem usually has two games in each world, with the second and the eighth being the odd ones out.

No, Roy is Eliwood's son. If you had beat the first FE game for the US, you'd know that.

Characters in PoR that ruled: Ike, Titania, Boyd, Soren, Gatrie.

EDIT: Dang, I had this on "preview" too long.

I never knew what biorhythem did,

on the other hand, i think they should have the class tree like from Sacred Stones. That way you could turn your theive into a Assassin or a rouge or turn your mage into a sage or mage knight. That is the reason that i liked Sacred Stones more than Path of Radiannce.

Biorhythm increases hit and dodge when it's high and descreases hit and dodge when it's low.

The branched class tree from SS was a new thing for the series. If it makes a return, it will likely be in a sequel to SS. Personally, the Rogue is the only new class I liked in that game. Chests, doors, and stealing without lockpicks? Sweet! The other new classes were average.

well i just thought it was nice because you got to choose what you wanted to be (duh) and the game didnt tell you what you had to be.

Also, how did the Biorhythm change?

That's your choice, then.

Biorhythm changes automatically at the beginning of every battle, I believe.

Nintendo needs to release a price point and release date so i can pre-order my Wii and the Fire Emblem and crap.

Cara, did you ever use Astrid? (in PoR) i love her so much. If you use some bonus ex. you can get her up and then use her in the level where you get Tormod and Muarim to kill all those birdies, and her Ability that doubles her experiance gained is insane!

I'm hoping there'll be a Gamecube version, myself.

I've used everyone but Brom, Devdan, Sothe, Callil, Bastian, Janaff, and Largo, all of whom I plan to use in my fifth playthrough. If you get Astrid going, she's amazingly easy to level up. She's only average stat-wise for me, though.

i've used Devdan, he's ok, but Sothe can change classes so you might not want to use him.

Technically Sothe is the better thief. Blossom raises his growths so that he's better statwise before Volke promotes. Even though he doesn't promote, thieves aren't meant to get into fights. Sothe does what thieves do best - get treasure from chests and open doors - without charging for the service.

Of course, if you want to steal stuff, Volke has a higher speed cap. But I don't generally steal things, so it doesn't really matter to me.

i guess i might try Sothe but i am afraid he might die, or run away, he doesnt die. but there is not many oppertunities to steal crap in that game, if anything is worth stealing from a enemy, they drop it. but i will use him for chests... yeah.
