Look at the avatar...

I also enjoy outlaw star (when they were showing it one cartoon network). My little brother is really into trigun, I just haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

From episode 6, "FLCLimax." Right at the end (practically). "Little Busters" by The Pillows is playing. Noata's holding Haruko's guitar (I think).

Yes, the Cowboy Bebop is awesome. The first episode if my favorite.

Nadesico is good too, as is Neon Genesis Evengalion. Eva gets a little freaky at the end though...

Anybody else into serious anime, like Miyazaki (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away), Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies), Rintaro (Metropolis), etc.?

[Edit: Rephrased; On second read seemed a little snobbish.]

Well.. I like Cowboy Bebop! But thats one of those anime's even alot of people who otherwise don't care for anime seem to like.

Isn't Otaku a japanese insult though? Approximately meaning 'Total Dork(TM) thats possinly distrubingly obsessed with Manga (rather then Anime) and that should probably be avoided at all costs?'

From what I understood from actual Japanese people, thats pretty much what it means...Or is it one of those insults thats now some sort of badge of honour?

Anyway I like some anime, but I couldn't be called more then an extremely casual, and not all that knowledgable fan. And there is definitly anime I DON'T like too.

"Otaku" is Japanese for "fanboy."

Offtopic, somewhat funny story:
On another forum, the lowest user rank is Otaku, and the rank images look like trash cans. My friend joins; his rank is "Otaku" and has trash can rank images. I was joking with him and said, "Yeah, you're a trashcan fanboy!"

I loved Spirited Away and Mononoke. Metropolis was good too, but weird. AS for TV, I like Inuyasha. Possibly the only good anime we get in Canada.

i'm not an obsessive anime person. nearly all my friends are, and before i checked it out the only relationship i had with it is that i had heard of it. one of my friends is sooooo good at drawing it tho. one day i was at the library and happened to see Chobits (one of my friends favorites, other than Kenshin) and so i checked it out and i like it, but i dont absolutely love it.

I haven't been able to keep up with anime lately, but I do like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Hellsing, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Martian Successor Nadesico, Macross Plus, Gasaraki, and The Slayers.

Metropolis was not Rintaro. It was Osamu Tezuka. He also created Astro Boy and some other one about a samurai who's limbs are deadly weapons, literally.

Hey, D-7: If you like Trevor Hunter D, then you'd love Hellsing. :[

I like Shaman King. 4Kids killed it, just like they killed Yu-Gi-Oh. I hate them. So yes, undubbed all the way.

Ranma 1/2 is not for kids. It's about this martial arts dude who turns into a girl when he gets wet, or something like that. I've only seen one episode, so I'm probably not the best judge of it.

If you were my 12 year old, I wouldn't let you watch it. However, some might let their 12 year old watch it. (But I suppose, that's not too uncommon with anime).

I am sure you can find scans online and judge for yourself (or let your mom decide)
