Some anime in the US is awesome (Inuyasha, Kaleido star, Ghost in the shell, Stinkoman and more)

While some was kiled (Shaman king, Tokyo Mew Mew, One piece)
But the one that was Really Crushed was Sailor moon (This is an Majestic anime in Japan, And the USA so low, It went underground)

62 ps were cut, tons of stuff was cut, and that's why I reccomend getting
Season 1 & 2 on video with al its undubbed ness

(I'm not an anime fan I just know about ths stuff, But I love Inuyasha.)

Totally agreed on that point. That's why I'm waiting around for the boxed set from Shonen Jump. Supposedly, they left Shaman King completely intact. But then again, I was a fan of it before it was ever translated. Manga Screener was translating the manga for a while before it was lisenced.

Ooh, looks like another item on my Christmas list. In other news, Witch Hunter Robin and Gundam Seed are finally on the air in Canada. I didn't like WHR, though. I thought I would, but Robin seems like an annoying character and I didn't care for the plot.

On Adult Swim there are some of the best anime around. FLCL, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun are the big three for me on Adult Swim. Another good one I suggest is Gungrave. It's made by the same guy who made Trigun. It might make sense if you first play the game.

I recently saw part of "Read or Die" on Adult Swim. I didn't see all of it because I needed to go to sleep, but what I saw looked good. It's like an anime version of the Tuesday Next series, in a way. I need to find the DVD so I can see it subbed.

My sister likes Fruits Basket, or FruBa. It's so cute and sweet and sometimes sad. It's pretty good too. If you're into girly stuff, watch it.

Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorites. I had the pleasure of watching the entire series a while back, and man. What a solid series.

Sometimes I feel like it was a little short, though.

I wouldn't at all mind them making some more episodes of that series, or maybe some more movies. Like Firefly, it's a pretty unique idea for Sci Fi.

Of course, they could never make a true sequal to the series. They'd have to fit it into the middle of the series or something.

I like anime as well. My favorites are Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, and I like Inuyasha as well. I don't have a very extensive knowledge of anime though, I only get to watch what comes on Adult Swim. I used to be able to watch the anime on G4TechTV until I lost that channel. X-( One of the best anime's I've seen lately is Last Exile, can't wait until they finish that one!

Here are some of my favorites:

Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. I can't account for the rather silly name, but this kick-butt anime series is about four young ladies who, using high-tech battle armor, battle berserk androids known as Boomers. At the same time, they must uncover a technological conspiracy, as the police, the government, and the Genom Corporation seek to destroy them.

Gasaraki. Steeped in Shinto mysticism, Gasaraki is a story that brings mythology into the 21st century technology. The Goa Corporation has developed a bipedal battle armor for military use. But the Goa family has a dark history. International conspiracy, family greed, and impending war brings disaster, as this new technology threatens to unleash an ancient terror from beyond.

Ooo, Cowboy Bebop makes me fly. High. I love every bit of that series, including the soundtrack CDs. All seven of them. And I'm even able to lift up my chin -- in a nyo-ho-hoing way -- and exclaim in an authoritative manner, "I owned a copy of Knocking On Heaven's Door a year before it came out in the states. Arrrrr."

Furthermore, I also really love Shoujo Kakumei Utena, since it's so obscure and evilly psychological and fantabulously-drawn. And Trigun, and The Slayers, and Outlaw Star (rather like Bebop, that), and even a little Evangelion on occaision. And the list goes on. I'm still trying to get ahold of Inuyasha in its entirety, but since it's been made into a bazillion episodes it's a pretty daunting task.

It's interesting to see that many H*R fans, at least around ye olde forum here, seem to be anime fans too. Surely that's why Stinkoman is so ridiculously amusing. (I'm STILL not able to resist laughing during the credit sequences. SB's "Shamalama-hamalama!" always gets me.) So hooray for us! Hooray for us and our ability to see beyond typically Western cinema! As a film major, that makes me very happy indeed. Happy enough to do a little eek dance. :eekdance:

I hear that Evangelion is really depressing but as addictive as chocolate crack.

Is Shojen Jump supposted be releasing a un-cut version of Shaman King? Tell me when so I can buy it

How can no one have mentioned Fullmetal Alchemist? Absolutely incredible series. And what aboot One Piece? (Original Japanese, not the dub they're showing on Fox ... ugh). Anyone else here watch Maria-sama ga Miteru?

I also like Naruto, Trigun, Evangelion, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Irresponsible Captain Tylor, El Hazard: The Magnificent World, Bubblegum Crisis (NOT 2040, 2040 sucked), Full Metal Panic, Hyper Police, Excel Saga, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Love Hina, Magic Users Club, Saber Marionette J (and J Again and J to X), Tenchi Muyo OAV, Magical Project S, Rurouni Kenshin, Slayers in all its forms, Vandread, Last Exile, Wild Arms, Rune Soldier Louie, Eat Man, And many, many more.

Too late, they already killed One Piece. Even worse... in the recent edition of Shonen Jump, they changed "Zoro" to "Zolo." To just the average person off the street, it's no big deal but really, changing it to "Zolo" took a little bit of the edge off him. "Zoro" was a much better name! What's werid about this one is that it's the only name they've changed. I would have thought their "Name-changing-target" would have been Shaman King. (Seeing Manta's name changed to "Mortie" would just be scary. One of the worst name changes!)

I really need to see more of that series, even though it's been spoiled for me. I've seen the first part (School Council Saga) and some of the second part (Black Rose Saga) and the movie. I really love the movie, though it makes me sad that the world can't be as beautiful as her World. Oh the despair!

Tosh, surely nothing could spoil Utena. And I got the whole shebang on Ebay for less than half of what it would've cost to buy each individual DVD on Amazon. (I mean, 40 bucks a pop? Wham, bam, no thank you ma'am.) Go on and check around Ebay. If not there, comic book stores usually have some decent discounts for stuff of the anime nature -- if you don't mind being given the suspicious eye for being a girl inside a typically guy's domain, that is.

The movie is jaw-droppingly beautiful but completely different from the series, as most anime movies are. Especially Anthy. Movie Anthy = more hair, less sanity.

I meant "spoiled" as in "rosebud was his sleigh" or "she's a man" or "the ship sinks". I know how it ends, basically.

Never fear; I don't think knowing the ending ruins SKU at all. It might if the whole of it made more usual-type narrative sense, but because the series is so cerebral and understated in nature, there's a lot more to it than just the ending. In fact, the ending doesn't seem to answer much! Kinda like life! Yay!

Oh, and rosebud was his sled. Poor old Kane. All he really wanted was to slide around in the snow again.
