I like a lot of anime. It was Bebop that got me started though. Then I got into a whole unch of others one as well. Lupin III is really good as well.

All is right with the world now, for I have a cookie. And its even chocolate chip!

I could never really get Full Metal Alchemist. It never really made sense with me.

I'd love to be an alchemist, I'm not sure what kind, maybe an earth alchemist.

I, too, love Full Metal Alchemist. It's one of the better series out on ye olde western-world airwaves today, methinks, as well as being one of the better dubs. Although -- as is the case with all dubs, really -- I secretly long to hear what it sounds like with the original voices.

I particularly enjoy how Edward is always being made fun of because he's short. As a tall person, I find that sort of thing funny -- as to whether or not it also makes me a little bit evil, well, your guess is as good as mine.

Anime, eh? Weird stuff. The closest thing to Anime I've ever seen is Poke'mon, and it wasn't that great. Does anime and Manga mean the same thing? These names are getting me all cunfuzzled.

I'm not generally much of an anime fan, but I watched a movie on Adult Swim last night called Metropolis. I thought it was great. The animation, and especially the backgrounds, was amazing.

I also saw Spirited Away, which wasn't bad either.

Maybe I'll start checking animes out more often...

i LOVE anime. i just got into it recently, so i haven't seen that much, but i love what i have seen:

Cowboy Bebop the Movie, Hellsing, Princess Mononoke, Cowboy Bebop the series, Spirited Away, just started Trigun (the sandwich in the intro! hee hee!)

i saw the first episode of Pokemon the other day, and really enjoyed it now i'm into manga. it's still a kiddie's show though.

i'm also reading a bit of Manga. CB manga, a bit of naruto. i'm gonna buy the Hellsing mangas as well. hooray for cultural diversity and manga!!

oh, and for all those who hate 4Kids ruining their TV programs i give you this : http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=145

For anybody who doesn't know what anime is:
http://ambientwhimsy.com/anime/whatis.html

Beware, though, that's pretty much the oldest site I still have sitting around, merely transferred over to my domain yet designed way back in the early days of the web (not to mention my youth) when anime shrines and the general silliness thereof were as common as ... uh, trees.

JohnTheTinyCowboy: I watched that movie, too. It's actually based on a 1927 film of the same name, which was directed by Fritz Lang and has long been considered the great ancestor of all sci-fi films. If you enjoyed Spirited Away, I recommend Princess Monoke, both of which have the same director. Lastly, as with all anime newbies, I'll point you toward the direction of Cowboy Bebop, too, because that's pretty much one of the most agreed-upon best series ever made.

And that's WAY more than enough anime n' film lingo out of me.

I've actually seen an episode or two of Cowboy Bebop, I think. It was pretty cool.

The thing is, anime shows tend to be the kind of show where, in order to understand them, you have to have seen the entire series from the beginning. That's why, if I'm going to watch anime, I prefer anime movies like Metropolis. That way I can understand the plot.

Maybe I'll go to Blockbuster and rent a few.

I usually watch pretty much anything that's on. I can get hooked to some of the "kiddie shows" too. Like I was really liking Duel Masters for a while, but then I got sick of its complete and total wreckage (I haven't seen the original version, but just watch it and see what I mean). Pokemon can be okay once in a while, but it gets annoying. Beyblade is still cool though. Silly concept, but awesome plot n_n

Favorites:
Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X (love them both)
DBZ
Beyblade
Fruits Basket
FLCL
Yu-Gi-Oh
Steamboy
Cowboy Bebop
.hack//SIGN
Silent Mobius

Manga is definitely better, but Shonen Jump is starting to become a bit of a sellout....

Thank you for reminding me I missed Metropolis last night, JTTC T_T At least I watched the Clone Wars episodes >_>;;

Boy you guys are missing a huge anime movie. It is the reason that anime became popular in America. Akira. It is the best anime movie ever created. I love it I watch Akira whenever it is on. I should really buy it.

OK. I've never heard of it before. I didn't know if everyone was just giving some weird abbreviation to a show I'd already heard of.

Basically, the only animes I know are the ones on Adult Swim, and the occasional show on G4TechTV.

And Ranma 1/2, but I've never actually seen that show, so I guess it doesn't count.
