Just late last month, one of the best N64 games there is turned 9. It was Star Fox 64. It's a weird way of reminding us how old the N64 is, but also reminds us of this killer game.

Got fond memories of this game? Post!

I might also see if I can lock this later than next year bring it back for when it turns 10.

"Do a barrel roll!"

Happy 9th Birthday Star Fox 64.

Note: I don't consider it the best N64 game. But it was very good.

I loved Star Fox 64... I'm 21 now, so I was 12 when it came out. Wow. I never bought it though, I rented it and beat it with-in 48 hours... and rented it again whenever I wanted to play some more. It was pretty pretty awesome. I remember playing it right before going on a big long summer camping trip and before going to see the BB-35 Battleship Texas.

But it is not my favorite N64 game. Oh no. That was without a doubt GoldenEye 007, which is also 9 years old... almost (in the fall it will be). I played that game almost every day with my best friend from 1999 until sometime in 2001. lol. It was our hub game. Sure, we played other stuff... but we always went back to 007. I think we did everything possible with that game... then we got a GameShark and did the impossible.

Good memories.

If I were to rank my top 5 N64 games it would be.

1.) GoldenEye 007
2.) Super Mario 64
3.) StarFox 64
4.) Perfect Dark (sequel to Goldeneye in spirit!)
5.) Battle Tanx (i had a lot of multiplayer fun here, lol)

What?! How could you not have either of the Zelda games on there?! Zelda OoT and MM are my top two, followed by Goldeneye in a close third.

Star Fox 64... ah, those were the days. I liked when Slippy had that 8 year-old voice that breaks windows.
Now his voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard... which is mildly worse.

STAR FOX 64?!?!?
When was the last time I played that game!
I loved that game, but sadly, my N64 was traded in without me knowing....
I'll miss the memories of that game.

Oh wow. I remember renting this game ALL THE TIME. I never bought it though, and I have no idea why. I had so much fun with it whenever I rented it.

There's a Star Fox game coming out for the DS sometime in the next year or so. Judging from the previews, there'll be 4 player dogfights just like in the 64 version.

Star Fox 64 was an awesome game. Part of what made this such a fun game is that you had no set path to follow. You could visit different planets everytime you play. I also liked the multiplayer battles.

I'm going to get the DS Star Fox game when it comes out. From what I heard, it's supposed to use Nintendo Wifi.

I played Star Fox 64 once or twice. I think the only level I played was the first one.

Good list! Me and my friend would always play Perfect Dark, that was an awesome game. We'd go to the secret places, like the resturaunt, try to lock the other out. Man, we had some awesome times playing that game, And Goldeneye, we played that a lot, too, though usually with some other friends. I wasn't very good, but my sister wasn't either (She wanted to do the "Slap only" mode all the time) so it evened out. We had some great times with the remote and proximity mines. By th times you'd figured out where and where not to step, you'd been shot.

I even rememebr battle Tanx, we played that a bit, too. Not for too long, though. I wonder what happened to it....

But my favorite N64 game has gotta be Super Mario 64. Different memories than the other ones, since it's not multiplayer, but man, that was a good game. It would've been way better, though, if it wasn't the second video game I'd ever played (Mario Kart 64 being the first). If only I'd known then how innovative it really was. That turns 10 this year, right? Or has it already? I can't beleive how old it is. Great memories there, too, like when my sister randomly decided she wanted to do a flat sit on top of the mountain. Little did we know that was the point of the level...

So many good times from those games.

3) Super Mario 64
4) GoldenEye 007
5) BattleTanx

I think the SNES Starfox was the first video game I ever played, at a friends house... or at least, that I can remember... I know I owned an NES at one point... I think that was later though.

Anyway, I was far too young to have any real memories of it.

For I all know, it could have just been a similar shooter. :bubs:

Ah. This was some good stuff. It just drew you in and you kept playing it again and again just to get further. And Arwings are too cool for words.
The original StarFox's soundtrack was a lot better though...
