I heart ABC. I don't mind paying for it. It gives me smart TV.

Those sprite ads are annoying. Maybe I'm just getting old. There are certain ads that I am completely unable to watch.. I have to turn the TV off or mute it (or change the channel when they come up).

I hate commercials PERIOD. They take precious time away from our TV shows! :-(
Hey, if it wasn't for those commercials, there wouldn't be any TV. They pay the bills.

except for the government chanels, or whatever they are. like here, we have ABC. that gets paid by taxes.
We don't have government channels. Everything is either privately owned or public broadcasting.

I like the commercials. There's a lot to see, and while all the images probably don't amount to anything (subliminal or not), and while they don't want me to go out and buy a Sprite, they are interesting to watch. It's almost like some weird foreign film from the '70's. If I were to guess anything, I think they're trying to position Sprite as a lemon-lime drink rather than some clear sugar water (which is probably a closer representation of what I imagine Sprite to be).

I also agree with the guy who says it looks great in a movie theater. Usually, I shift uncomfortably if the comercial on screen is something that I've already seen on TV. However, the Sprite commercials are strangely riveting.

Head On was on MSNBC and normal NBC.

Head On is the most annoying crap. EVER.

The reason for the insanely creepy Sprite commercial/wesite-

The ABC show LOST teamed up with Sprite to get their Alternate Reality Game (The Lost Experience) up and running, and it (sublymonal.com) was one of the websites advertised in the fake commercials for the fake company during LOST and other ABC shows.

Anyone seen the commercial that's all, "Since the dawn of time, man.." And it's got Darwin, and that creppy picture, and it ends as the "Hanso Foundation-reaching out for a better tomorrow"? That's it.

I guess Sprite liked the creepiness factor, and decided to run with it. Either that, or LOST and Sprite are still teamed up.

In a twisted way, though, the commercial does accomplish what it sets out to do. Whether we like it or hate it, we are talking about it. And that's all most commercials aim to do: get the name of their brand into your brain.

The commercial is... interesting. The only thing is that I'm compelled to stare at the TV screen while watching it, and by the end, my eyes are so dry that... um... that... Chuck Norris? I dunno. And as for HeadOn, that would be the work of evil marketers bent on turning us into zombies. Must... find... explanation... for... stupid... commercial... and... buy... HeadOn...

Really?

I thought the whole point of that commercial was to GIVE YOU a migrane so you would go and buy the product.

According to Wikipedia, HeadOn is actually mostly wax.

What a cheat. I hate that commercial. We should form a mob and lynch the people that created it. Or at least string them up in Times Square for all to see while forcing the to listen to their commercial through heaphones forever.

Do advertisers really think I'm going to remember the product but forget that I really hated the commercial?

I didn't say advertisers were smart. :) I also think there's only a slim correlation between a buyer's purchasing habits and whether or not he or she liked a particular commercial.

So, yeah... Sprite is betting you will choose Sprite over Sierra Mist and 7-Up just because they've echoed the brand name through your head several times.
