Post subject:  The end of summer...
I am writing this on August 9th, my first day of school. My summer is over, I am now in 9th grade as a high schooler. This thread is for those starting school again.

Personally, the summer went WAY too fast. I remember the last day of school like it was yesterday along with the yearbook signing dance. I did so much, and yet, it made it go fast. *sigh*

So, how was your summer?

I'm done with school forever! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ...But, summers in here in Houston typically last until about November, as far as weather goes. ><

I go back to school on September 8th or so, but I already feel like I've totally wasted my summer. My stupid family hasn't offered to go to the beach, or even to the pool, or the amusement park, or anything so far. I'm only going to Point Pleasant during the last week of August and that's it.

I just hate having to WORK all summer. I don't even get paid. My family just EXPECTS me to do the laundry, make them food, clean up... argh. I'm still a kid. I should get to have FUN.

Man, you go back on the 9th topo? That's harsh.

Schools around here start on the week before Labor Day but, like Gidley, I'm done for good. Although some days I'd rather face high school again than the life outside of it.

That's what calling up your friends after getting your chores done is for. ;)

My summer ends September 5th... but I'm out of town for thirteen days between now and then, so I'm a bit sad about that... Got the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th, and then the week or so from the 28th to the 5th... 'Tis sad, especially since this is my best summer so far. Ah well, Grade Ten might end up making up for the end of summer...

This summer has gone by way too fast for me also...and I did squat the whole time. The only memorable thing that I did was go to Lake Tahoe. I remember studying for finals like it was yesterday...

Usually we go to the beach, amusmeant parks, fairs, friends house, out of state, our cabin, and what not. This year I've only gone to the beach once!!! I've had summer homework to worry about the whole time.

In my mind, summer is when you completely forget about school for weeks on end. This was the first summer that that did not happen. It makes me very sad... :-(

Exactly. I start school this coming Monday! Gonna be hard getting re-used to getting up at about 6:30 AM...as of late I've been getting up at about 9:30 AM, and get to bed at around midnight. It'll be harsh for me when school starts again.

Summer is meaningless when you have a full-time job. 8-10 hours a day stuck inside, whether it's January or July.

I miss the days when summer meant riding bikes around town, buying Slurpees, playing basketball for hours on end. :-(

I start school again on the 24th.
Right now, I am in West Virginia, until the 14th.
And then I will come home, and probably spend all remaining home time with Adrienne.

I kinda actually wanna go back to school.

Grah. I've TRIED that. One of my friends isn't allowed to hang out with me and the other one had to cancel the only thing we planned. It's not like they're just simple chores, anyway, they're household jobs that my family should be doing. My father and my grandpa just sit on their butts all day and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I've still got about 25 days left, I start on September 6th. I've had good time to rest, I think by then I'll be ready to go back. School's a lot better when your homeroom teacher is awesome (Man, I hope he's still my homeroom teacher. It was planned for him to be, but you never know)

I don't think there's been a year yet where I haven't been ready. i find in the last week of summer that I'm content in going back. I enjoy the first hectic few weeks of school.

You think that's bad? Try waking up at 12:30 PM and going to bed at 2:30 AM.

Anyway, I start on the 23rd, and I would care less if they didn't decide to make it a rule to have your ID on your neck all day. Somebody can run up behind you and choke you with that thing.

But, like always, this summer ended too fast. I didn't even do anything! It's all usually crammed into the last two weeks or so. I'm going to a baseball game (Unfortunately, to the current championship team that I don't like even though they are the local sports team), possibly go to a museum, go to an amusement park, possibly go paintballing, and go out for breakfast at the Golden Girdle (Though it's really pronounced Griddle).

Im going back to school on the 24th. That is the latest I have ever had it, considering we got out on like June 10th this year instead of May 23rd. Do you know what it is like to do P.E in June in Arizona? Of course, some people on the forum are from Austraila, so I really should stop whining. Oh, and when I was in the Third Grade, I started on July 31st.

Well, this summer all I did was stay inside and post on the internet. So my summer was great!
