This sounds familiar and I tried the handy search function but didn't find anything.

Do you play Magic the Gathering? If so post your favorite card, and stratigies. Post your decks to.

I have a white Soldier deck called "The Crusade" I get a ton of strong tokens out.

I also have a Black/Artifact deck called "Cyber Zombies" or something lame, that has my presious Riever Demon and Platinum Angels in it.

I gots me a Red/White mana choke deck. It's most effective on people with lots of high-cost cards. It restricts mana access and sacks land, but since most of my cards are small (No converted mana cost greater than 4 in the whole deck), I do pretty well. I also have some nonland sources.

I also have a minor Goblin theme and a minor life-gain theme in it.

Like I mentioned in the Random Thoughts thread, my friends got me started, and I currently have a deck that I made from the cards my friend didn't want (It's red and blue). My favorite card is currently Inferno, it does 6 damage to every creature and player. What fun.

I could have sworn we used to have a topic about this in GetKey.

That's when I found out Seethroo played Slivers. *shiver*

I play magic. A lot.

Currently, the only decent decks I have are Boros, Zombies, and a No Creature deck.

The No Creature deck is kind of a... long term project. I need more lava axes and volcanic hammers. It's a red/black deck. Red for damage and black for elimination of creatures. Of course, I tend to end up dwindling to single digits before I win, if I win. Defense Grid keeps me safe most of the time, but when I've got Furnace of Rath out, anything is effective against me.

My Boros deck needs some Flame Kin Zealots, and a couple Rally the Righteouses. I'm also strangely fond of Torpid Molochs, so I could use a couple more of them.

Zombies needs more warchiefs. Definatley more warchiefs.

I used to play Myrs a lot. It worked out pretty well. I'm thinking of bringing them back, but there are a few things I need to get first.

My favorite card is actually one I don't use much. I have a "That which was Taken." It doesn't really work in any deck I have now, but I hope to be able to use it at some point.

I was helping my brother with a white deck of his. I gave him 2 Blessed Reversals, an Avatar of Hope and a Myojin of Cleansing Fire. That came back to bite me shortly after... :|

Slivers and elves are so cheap that it isn't funny, and those 2 are the only type that my brother playes.

Elves are cheap because of Well Wisher.

New set is confirmed to have Slivers.

I have a namelesws Red and Green Madness Deck, and my favorite card is Basking Rootwalla, because I can usually play it for free any time I could play an instant!

SWEET! I've always wanted to try 'n' play some Slivers.

My best friend has a That Which Was Taken, and it'd be pretty cool to try and implement that. He's also pretty dangerous with a Moonring Mirror.

I got into Magic a couple months ago because I heard some guys at school played in a weekly tournament at a nearby card shop, and I thought it was something to do with my Friday nights.

Anyway, I currently have two decks: a Red/Blue Izzet deck (with Wee Dragonauts, and plenty of counter-magic cards and damage-dealing sorceries and instants) and a Black/White Orzhov deck (Leech, though it could do with some Faith's Fetters to go with my Pillories of the Sleepless, and maybe another Underworld Dreams).

I WILL pwn you with my deck. It is inevitable.

The only reason I don't play Magic online is simply because I can't use my deck.

Ugh.

I have an elf/"get a butt load of creatures out" deck that I've had for a few years now. Even if elves are cheap, it makes me win and that's what counts.

My favorite card in the deck is "Beast of Burden" it's an artifact that has attack/defense equal to the number of creatures you have out. Since elves are so cheap to play, it usually comes out as a 9/9 or something crazy like that.

I know how that feels. Stupid "banned" cards. My Ice Floe was the bane of many players. Ditto for the Glacial Chasm. :-)

I have that one in there too.

Beast of Burden is cooler though because it shows a picture of a camel or something. 9/9 Camel-Artifact thing= Very cool.

Ummm... The card I'm talking about wasn't one of those ones with the new front design...

But whatever, it doesn't matter.

But, y'see, with such precariously perched mana costs, one Defense Grid and those guys can't even get in to play. And they won't do you much good from your hand...

My good cards?

Razia, Boros Archangel

Firemane Angel

That Which was Taken

And of course, my totally irrational favoritism of Torpid Molochs.

if this is anything like yu-gi-oh, i'm not into trading cards. i'd probably enjoy it, but i'd get called a nerd, and there's nobody to play the game with.

Naturalize, you will find, can help you there.

Of course, you have to hit some serious mana before you can cast it, but yeah. Something like a Mana Battery (If you can get it into play before the defense grid), would help, as would some wild growths.

I used to play Magic a long time ago. I haven't played in at least...6 or 7 years. I gave all my cards away to a friend of mine. I wasn't that good though...

5 mana is nothing to scoff at. And the chances that Mana Battery or Wild Growth fit in with the colors/theme of the deck are kind of slim, and nobody has cards just to counter one certain other card.

Though a sideboard would be a good place to put the stuff you need, I guess.

Heh, I got that covered, I have many explosive vegitations, Journey of Discoveries, and Reap and Sows, and a Gilded Lotus.

I find that I often have too much mana.

But still, not many people have 12 mana in play at any time during an average game. Especially if they're not exceeding the 60 card minimum.

Except for my brother, who I often think is cheating when he has all his mana in play every game.

Man, I totally loved that game, as you maybe could tell by my avatar.
But I haven'te played a game since my friends stopped playing, and that was some time between Betrayers of Kamigawa. I haven't been to any pre-releases or anything.
Anyway, I still like the old cards better than the new. The only real good thing the new cards brought back was equipment. Equipment rocks!

I've still got my old Elf deck, and a Bird/Soldier and my failed yet fabled Black/Red Slow Crusher!

You know what I love?

Isochron Scepter with Terror.

It makes getting rid of creatures so easy!

But you know what I really hate? High cost creatures.

Most of the time, without a deck built around bringing them out quickly, they're completley worthless. I used to play with a Plated Slagwurm, Scion of Darkness, and Avatar of Hope, among other things. It didn't work out.

The only way I can justify using a creature that costs 8 mana is as a super secret weapon, for really late in the game. I currently have 3 cards in any deck with mana cost over 4. Firemane Angel, Razia, Boros Archangel and Excruciator.

I'm thinking of maybe a white/green life gain deck. With a Wurm's Tooth and Angel's Feather, it might work.

Isochron sceptre would be great with Incinerate, too (3 damage to target creature or player, creatures killed this way can't be regenerated)

Gain life decks are tricky. I've never used one, but it's my friend's weakest deck. Maybe if youv'e got the right cards it'd be good, but it's not the greatest strategy.

If I ever get another deck, a "Make it so your opponent can't untap" deck would be fun. Those can really suck for your opponent.

Entwined Blinding Beams are fun to play with, if you don't want people untapping.

I love to use Incite Hysterias especially when you can hit multiple colors by playing it on certain cards. Or, more specifically, Transguild Courier.
