I decided to make a thread strictly for discussion on the new season, and probably will do it every year. Season pretty good so far to me. Most Recent Episode: Please Homer, Don't Hammer Em.... Marge becomes a handywoman and uses Homer as a front for it. Bart discovers Skinner's allergy to peanuts and turns gim into his slave - and in a huge Star Wars parody, Skinner fights back. Treehouse of Horror XVII Three Halloween parody tidbits. An alien invasion flies by the heads of Spingfield residents, circa 1938. Homer becomes a gigantic blob, and Bart takes advantage of Krusty's Golem. Next Episode: Not sure Episodes I'm Waiting For: [/b] Kill Gil 24 Minutes Guest Stars So Far: Joe Pantoliano Micheal Imperioli Metallica The White Stripes Jumped The Shark(3 episodes in) It's 3 episodes into the new season. Nothing has been done that was really shark-jumpy, and I could actually see those plots happening circa Season 5(except for the Star Wars stuff in Hammer 'Em). So a big "No" from me for this season. Have any opinions on the two new episodes? Looking forward to any future ones? Want to bet on plots for unverified ones, like Ice Cream of Margie(With The Light Blue Hair) or Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Three Times? Post it in this topic! NOTICE: This is for Season 18. Not the movie, not past episodes, not new merchandise coming out. Anything pertaining to those, please don't put them here. |

I think beating gunsmoke is an added bonus. I assume they just love making it, and since it gives a way-more-than-steady income, there's no reason not to. |

The new ToH contains a Futurama episode? I'll have to see this. All three titles sound pretty interesting, and ToH/three stories format is the only type of episode that doesn't make me go WTF these days. I missed the first ten minutes of last week's episode. Am I to assume that the White Stripes cameo was little more than them saying "Hi, we're the White Stripes"? I thought the episode ended extremely abruptly and didn't really resolve anything, but then coherent plot structure has been lacking for a few years now. The long list of names was quite funny though. |

I've always been a fan of The Simpsons, and I don't think Season 18 is a disappointment at all. Everyone's been ragging on it time and time again, but I don't see why. After over 350 episodes, 18 season, and God knows how many years, Matt Groening and the gang are still churning out comedic gold! Gold I tells ya! I'm always seeing original stories, gut-busting jokes and a balance a heart warming moments that has made The Simpsons as famous as it is. It's the longest running sitcom of all time, and people are just dissing it. Well I think that's just foolish. The SImpsons is an amazing show and Season 18 is no exception. Heh... I kind of did a "What grinds my gears" thing there. Well it still stands! I've only been able to catch "The Mook, the Chef, the Wife, and Her Homer" so far and Seaon 18 seems super duper! So in my eyes... Season 18 FTW!! |

Well, Bart was playing his drums all around town in the style of a music video, and he ran into the White Stripes and broke their drum kit, who were doing the same. Bart tried to get forgiveness but they just ended up chasing him and falling of of an incomplete bridge. So kind of. |

I only saw like the last ten minutes of Jazzy and the Pussycats, but it was pretty good. As for The Mook (ect), I thought it was awesome. Easily the best episode since that one where Bart goes to a rap concert. They've got my hopes up about this season. The first episode was easily Season 5 (the best season) quality, and from the reaction, it seems like episode 2 was the same. |

SEASON 6 IS THE BEST SEASON AND YOU KNOW IT.
Eh. I don't watch the new Simpsons episodes. I'll just watch the 8th season on DVD when it comes out.

...8th Season DVD IS out.
I'm watching the new episode now. There was a pretty funny Krusty joke a few minutes ago, and then a Homer one. So far, so vera good. |

Man, it looks likes I'm the only one who doesn't like the 18th season so far, and I'm one of the biggest Simpsons fans here! The first two episodes have been disappointing, with bad timing and poorly-executed plots. I'm pretty worried about the rest of this season. However, Bart calling jazz "Juzz" was really funny. |

My problem with the newest episode: Bart is actually allergic to Cauliflower. I'm assuming that Skinner decided that shrimp would be an easier allergy to trigger. |

I loved the Comic Book Guy and the Star Wars duel in this week's episode. The handyman stuff was another weak "blah blah our marraige is in trouble" plot, but the A plot felt like something out of the early years. And it didn't meander or peter out either. Looks like the writers are remembering how to put together a solid episode. |

I liked the new episode too. DG is right about the handyman plot (though I did like "Everything I do is perfect!"), and the Skinner/Bart plot. I love the Skinner/Bart plots, they're easily one of the best plots, and this one was really well done. ready for prime time wrote: butterscotch?
no way. marge made butterscotch chicken one time. The Simpsons doesn't have perfect continuity. |

So, nearly 2 months later and we get the new Treehouse of Horror! Pretty good as far as recent ones go. And even though I said not to talk about it, I'd just like to ask this: didn't they say the movie preview was happening last Sunday? |
