Eh, we don't have the typical "dance" until the formals, which one doesn't go to until one is in lower or upper sixth. Until then, one must make do with the "discos". Conincidently, we have a disco tomorrow night. May the robot-ing begin. |

Heh, at our school, you can invite friends from other schools. We have a MORP dance soon. It's a good thing, and a bad thing. It both takes off the pressure of asking someone and shows how girls think of you (Like if you don't get asked). |

Ok, I need some thoughts\advice\whatever. I am going to my school's snowcoming, and I really want to dance with this girl I really like, and I think that I would be able to(were good friends, and she dances with a lot of people), except one thing...I've never danced before... So, basicly im asking, what should I do? When I slowdance with someone do I just hold her and sway back and forth? Can I learn a simple dance like on wikipedia or something else? seriously, im pretty desprate here. |

Someone asked me if I went to the dance today. I said I thought about it, but then I remembered I could use the money to buy TWO chocolate milks. That... sums up my thoughts on dances. There was this one time where I was with a group of friends about to leave for a dance, and then one said "eh, I don't really want to go I guess." Then another person said "okay, I"ll just stay back with you." Then another said "I was just going cause you were going," and another said "oh, I thought you guys wanted to go so I was just going", and it turned out none of us really wanted to go. |

My dad never went to a dance before, and my mom...I think she went to about one...but they are dumb with that kind of stuff, and instead of teaching me how to, she will tell me how she will not want to dance with me and that I shouldnt try...because were "just friends" or something dumb....Or if she does try, she will teach me something outdated... |

*takes a deep breath* Alright, I'm just taking my best shot at this..... Basically, you're right. She holds your shoulders, you hold her hips. Don't hesitate, bring your arms part-way or all the way around her, trust me, it makes it a LOT more comfortable. Swing back and forth to the beat of the music - be loose, not stiff and straight. Make sure you don't step on her toes and most of all, don't freak out. Be as casual as possible. |

The only good dance I have ever been too was the 5th grade DARE graduation party. We had a live band, good food, and great felloship. The rest of the dances I went to(the 8th grade dance and my 9th grade homecoming just 2 weeks ago) were total botches. The only music played was rap, and the only danceing was one big grinding pile. And these wern't just any rap songs, these were DIRTY rap songs. The teachers were either deaf, or stupid, to let them get away with playing those.[/rant] |

I've only been to two dances. And the first one was in seventh grade, and I HAD to go, and didn't have anyone to go with, so there wasn't much there for me to do. The only other dance I have been to was this year's Homecoming dance, and that was okay. The security was crazy. And girls weren't allowed to take their heels off, so they were stomping on feet with heels, and it hurt a TON. And also, the DJ kept screaming, "DON'T ACT A FOOL!" Yeah, the Homecoming dance sucked. The only good part was who I went with.
