I'm going to go see the new Jet Li movie Fearless tomorrow night. Those who have seen it, will I be disappointed? (I assume not but I'm just curious.) ... oh and don't give any spoilers. |

Subtitles aren't that bad. Hero had them and I still liked the movie. |

It was all right...I saw it a while back. Yes, it has English subtitles--at least the version I saw did. I prefer subtitles to dubbing, anyway--you get the original actor's vocal inflections instead of something that sounds like a parody of it. But anyway...minor spoiler alert: Quote: It could have been advertised differently to more accurately reflect the story. Half the ads I saw put emphasis on the Western nations invading to show up the Chinese in combat styles, but that aspect of the movie had very little to do with the storyline--the real plot is about this gifted combatant overcoming his own arrogance through a series of trials and tribulations.
All in all, I thought it was a fair movie, with decent fight scenes. I prefered some of Jet Li's other movies, such as Hero, a bit more, but it wasn't all bad, either. |

I'll be honest. I saw it a week and a half ago (or so) and I wasn't that impressed. The fight scenes are great. I really do like Jet Li. I just felt that the story was somewhat incoherent. It jumped from one thing to the next. I would have liked to see more development with the farming village and his "romantic interest". If I had to give it a rating, I would say somewhere around 6.5 to 7 out of 10. This isn't to say that I would stop myself from seeing it if I could go back in time. I was just sad to know that this was going to be his final epic. |

How come this is the first I've heard of this movie? It sounds like something I'd like to go see, but I know almost nothing about it. |

Thanks, I'll check it out in a minute. But now there's a cookie in the kitchen that really wants me to eat it. |

I've seen it since I last posted. It was awesome. It had a great story. Hmmm it says it's based on a true story, I wonder how much of it actually is. |
