No, but if they came together to stop something, do you think they were shot down?

I plan on seeing Flight 93 some time. From what I've heard, it pays close attention to facts (read: not conspiracy theories). Family members of those who died in the crash said that the film was a memorial to them. It shows the courage of the average man in desperate situations.

I don't think 5 years is too soon. Like someone said earler, Holocaust movies can still be very traumatic, and most of us weren't even alive during WW II.

Whenever I think of Holocaust movies, for some reason I keep thinking back to the Seinfeld episode where Jerry and his girlfriend made out during Schindler's List.

I don't like most historical films. I like documentaries ( there was a 7 hour one on the holocaust on PBS last week, which I found to be the best I had ever seen ) or reading the information, but no films. Especially the Holocaust.

Back on topic now.

Well, I've seen the trailer for it on Television. And I'm not going to see it. The R rating for one thing. And the other is the fact that they say that "The people on this flight sacrificed themselves for our capital, and our Nation". I don't like this one little bit.

It has to do with the fact that, the people on that flight were not at all concerned with our capital or nation. THEY WHERE CONCERNED ABOUT THEMSELVES, THEIR FAMILES, AND IF THEY WOULD LIVE TO SEE ONE MORE DAY.

Um, for someone not on the plane that day, you seem rather sure of yourself as to EXACTLY what was going through those passengers' heads that day.

I call bull. You can't know.

I don't really agree with that. I think they jknew they were going to die, there were terrorists on there and stuff. I think they said to themselves "Well we're going to die, we might as well save the capital." But of course we don't know what they were really thihing, but that's what I would do.

I'm very sorry for becoming a little cross.

After re-studying what I was stating, I've have come to a new conclusion.

The people on that plane. Where innocent people. And I understand that by stopping the plane from hitting the white house saved many people.

But when someone says: "They only had the nation in mind". I cannont just believe this. I do think that, when they decided to strike back at the terrorists, they know that they would stop their plans as well. So they did have the capital in mind.

But I argue that, because they where normal people, they had their family's, friends, and lives to be concerned with.

So what I am saying is, perhaps they had both in mind, or perhaps niether. But either way, what they did was heroic.

But I do not believe that the nation was the only thing they gave their lives for.

To the forumers, especially iahimatoa and Dactyl, I'm sorry for what I said before, please forgive me.

I haven't read too much up on it, but from everything I've heard (that wasn't some conspiracy theory..) they were very heroic people, and I think they deserve some sort of memorial or something, but this is too soon for a movie in my opinion. The first thing I thought when I saw the commercial for it was "Are you serious?? Its way to early for a movie like that". A documentary wouldn't be as bad, but movies seem to twist what people actually said and did for entertainment's sake. And if the creators of the movie don't know exactly what happened they will make stuff up. It may be believable, but it still won't be what happened. But either way, I will not be seeing the movie mostly because of the R rating.

Oh, I'm not mad. I just didn't agree with you. Don't think I saw that post and said "WHAT?! THAT GUY IS SO WRONG!!!" because I wasn't. I don't think someone could type something to get me that mad. I forgive you.

I have seen several movies on tv about united 93 and no one flipped out. The familes already hae given permission so if they can see it I am sure we could too.

Frankly, a dramatized version of what the people of Flight 93 did is absolutely disgusting. I cannot imagine the relatives and friends being anything close to ok with seeing their loved ones portrayed on the silver screen by actors they don't know, and being critiqued by people they don't know.

Too soon for a memorial or remembrance, no.
Too soon for a movie, yes.

I'm fairly certain that, had the families of passengers on 93 had a problem with this movie, they would have filed a suit to stop it. As far as I know, no suits have been filed. To the contrary, I think the families actually support the movie.

I think the whole attack was a sad day. What do I think on the movie? I honestly have no idea. I think making entertainment out of something like that is abusing what happened. Maybe if it wasn't a whole drama thing. THe history channel could make something good out of it but to make a commercial movie out of it is dumb.
