Seriously... On neither of those shows does anyone either have sex or date or anything... So how exactly are they gay?

Besides... How the heck does anyone even know that Tinky-Winky's a guy?

And Sponges reproduce by budding... Spongebob even did that once in a an episode, so I don't think that he's gay. Maybe meterosexual, but not gay.

Hehe, well, based on ramrod's other posts, he's being sarcastic and/or making a joke--and I'm rather sure that all stable-minded people know that the idea of cartoons turning kids homosexual is absurd.

Stu's right, Seethrough... I also hate the "Religious Right Takeover" theory.... I love how the morning after the election all the news coverage referred to "The Evangelical Right" mobilizing and winning it for Bush. Did anyone every refer to the nutjob Christians banding together BEFORE the election? No. Who was mobilizing black americans and young adults for their party? The Democrats. Ridiculous if you ask me.

And as I'm Christian myself, I understand that most aren't as monkey butted right wingers. There is no black and white the vast majority of the time... and especially in politics.

I hope everyone understood that I meant "Hewlett Packard" when I was talking about HP. I haven't read the Harry Potter books, so I can't really comment on them.

Although I can point out one gross error in the first movie, one that a sensible person like myself cannot ignore: NEVER form a dungeon party with nothing but low-level mages! They should have taken that one really big hairy guy with them to be the Meat Shield.

This is true. They could stick back and cast some cantrips while Hagrid (big hairy guy) wails on whatever enemy with a +2 Pronged Stabbity Bandyclef...

They should probably bring a cleric, you know, to serve as a Human Band Aid after every encounter.

Okay, the idea of associating devil worshipping with Harry Potter is just ludicrous. First of all, as stated before the cast combats evil half of the time. Secondly, Harry Potter is loosely based off of many customs from Neo-Paganism. Finally, the BOOK SERIES IS FOR CHILDREN/TEENAGERS AND EVEN BECAME THREE MOVIES. WITCHCRAFT IS NOT EVIL.

Well, of course, it's never put explicitly. But if you watch an apparently innocuous episode of Spongebob, there are a lot of implicit references that'll go straight over the heads of the younger audience.

I think the most obvious example of a Spongebob gay allusion was in the episode about the Olympic-esque Fry Cook Games, in which Spongebob is pitted against his "best friend" (*coughs*) Patrick. During the show, a rivalry builds between them and at the end, in the climactic wrestling match, the two rip each others' clothes off to reveal that Patrick wears yellow underpants and Spongebob pink. In their anger, the two of them have gained impressive, muscular chests in the spirit of cartoon surrealism. When the two reconcile, they walk out of the ring holding hands.

You can't tell me there's not a subliminal implication there.

Well, if that's the case, the Spongebob is obviously Bi, on account of his relationship with that Sandy.

OI! OI! OI! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!
NONE OF THOSE SHOWS ARE GAY OR SEND A GAY MESSAGE OUT TO KIDS! Patrick and spongebod with huge muscles walking out in their underware holding hands is, well, uhh, er, preaty Freaking Hilarious. theyre not gay, its comedy! i mean, everything is geting so politically correct! i mean, i just read the PC version of snow white and the seven dwarves and ill tell ya, no child would understand what the He|| it means. i mean, you teach a child to be a straight up Liberal so early in age, he/she will grow up like a freaking well, uhh.... er... i dont know.... preaty straight up stuck up person. After My Generation ends,(Im Thirteen), we will be living in either a Huge PC world, where there will be no fairy tails, or anything that were enjoying or have enjoyed like Dungeons And Dragons, Cartoons, Comedic shows, video games, and music. or we'd be living in a world ruled by Gangs, not organized crime gangs like in the twenties', new gangs, like people you see in downtown detroit. both of those worlds would be a horrifying place to live in, and would ultimatley end in a war with no meaning in the after-life.

Modestly Hot Guy, you have a lot of conviction in what you believe in, but you have to be willing to accept others ideas. Have a conversation where you disagree with Didymus, and you'll know what I mean. He accepts ideas and then thrashes them with his own, more eliquently formed ideas ;)

Modestly Hot Guy wrote:

What does that mean?! Is every single person who has a liberal point of view stuck-up? Where did you get that from? That's just like saying "oh, every conservitive child is going to grow up and be in the circus" (or something along those radiculous lines.) You can make up stereotypes and hope they'll be accepted. From what I can tell, you're the only person EVER who EVER thought that liberal=stuck-up.

Modestly Hot Guy wrote:

I also don't know where you got the connection that liberals always thing that PC is good. I hate PC, and I'm liberal. Someone who's crippled probably wouldn't mind if you said they were crippled. Saying that they are "physically disabled" doesn't have any heart. It makes their condition seem apathetic. Saying "I understand that you're crippled" has more sympathy than "I understand that you're physically disabled." Even if everything were PC, I don't see how you got the idea that everything fun would be terminated. None of those things on your list have anything to do with PC.

Modestly Hot Guy wrote:

I don't even know where the heck you came up with this. I don't see how these people "ruling the world" could happen.

Modestly Hot Guy wrote:

Both of these words would be horrifying, so it's a good thing that neither will happen in any way whatsoever. I don't even understand your last sentence. "There's no video games and music and D&D?! Let's start a war!!!11!!!" or "I'm sorry, you can't go to heaven." "Why not?" "Because there's no cartoons..." You're arguement is crazy! And it has nothing to do with this thread!

Harry potter books are not satanic. This question doesn't have a single bit merit. Anyone who does believe that they are satanic are either radiculously gullible (sp?) or they just don't understand the facts.

Wow. I have to say I agree with Evin on just about everything he said. I also wanted to add that saying things like "Shut up", especially in the R&P forum, is not a way to get anyone to respect or consider your opinion. You also ought to recognize when Didymus is joking around.
This forum is not for argument or Caps Locking, but for civilized, respectful debate and discussion. Before you can expect anyone else to respect your opinion, you're going to have to show some respect for theirs. If you're looking for a fight, you probably won't find it here.

Calm down, dear, it's only a forum. No, the show doesn't send gay messages to kids, I said they went straight over kids' heads. I'm not trying to pretend that Spongebob contains pro- or anti-gay propaganda, but there are definitely references.

The rest of your post was rather like the PC version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. My post had nothing to do with political correctness.

okay, first off, im getting too political for my age, i should be doing something else, second off: the world "being ruled by gangs" thing i said is saying that alot of kids theese days are joining gangs and not really learning what they should be, there dropping out of school and stuff like that, i mean, just the other day, i saw a group of elementary school kids walking around a campus wearing those huge chains, bandanas of all the same colors, gang colors, looking like they were up to no good. ya see, what i belive in is that ,(dont judge me by this), rap music has influenced our children to say "Shove It" to Authority. once my generation grows older, people will not have that sense of polital hudgeugj.... wait.... what am i saying???? Forget this! im going to play doom, see ya in a week or six.

OK, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for "Things Everyone Knows About Chatspeak 101."

Buck on topic, wasn't there something on Snopes that said Tinky - Winky was gay?

Is that the guy with a television for a stomach? That right there's enough to give me the jibblies (A-Jibbly jibbly!). I mean the TV thing, not the gay thing.

Now it's already been proven that Barney is the Antichrist. I think those TV stomach guys are probably the Four Horsemen.

barney is for kids
tele-toubys is for kids
harry potter is for kids

the poeple who say that should be stuffed in an oven then eaten by vastious dogs then the dogs are stabed many times.

the only reason this happens
1.people are greedy
2.people are stupid and parinod

i am starting to hate the church for being stupid and thinking "a boy with a stick we must rip out the eyes of every child who read it or they will go to hell"

there is ABSOLUTLY POSITIVLY nothing bad about it

one complant
it makes kids worship the devil-why do we always blam our problems on media books, the internet,TV,vedio games maybe your phyco demon child shouldnt read it you parinoids!

it makes kids break rules-would it be a good book if harry just did his homework and gave teachers apples and let the school die i think it shows that there are times when you need to break rules and maybe your kid got introuble before the book ever think about that!

I was JOKING, doom. I don't honestly believe that Barney is the antichrist (although there are some pretty convincing arguments on the internet). Learn to laugh a little, why don't you? Sheesh!

There's just something unnerving about searching Google for "Tinky Wicky gay". The best I could dig up is this BBC article about the British arguments going on over it.

She thinks it's EVIL! But she think anything that has a bit of bad in it, is evil. She wouldn't let her kids watch Monster's Inc! Or Mulan! She said Mulan was an evil movie and from then on she wouldn't let any of her kids watch any of the new disney movies. I agree, that the new disney movies are going down in quality (Home on the Range is a perfect example, along with all the "2's") but saying that a movie that has some bad things is evil is just eccentric. Along with Harry Potter.

Oh, and if MS is Satan, is Macintosh god? (iKipapa should know)
