I find this whole "white Jesus v. black Jesus" more than laughable. He wasn't really either. Born in the Mediterranean, he was probably "gray", like most of the people in the region.
Are you trying to imply that there's some sort of racial spectrum between Africans and Europeans, and that Semetic people are in the middle?
Not at all. I was just saying that Jesus was, most likely, neither white nor black. Like most of the people in the region, I'm pretty he had dark tan skin (I think the term is olive, but I can't help but laugh when I see "olive-skinned" because I think of someone with olives as skin).
"Gray" just came out as the cheapest, easiest way to describe that.
I don't think Jesus was black, but He could have been. He could have been white. He could have really been any color he wanted to be. He was the flesh and blood version of the one that created the universe. If your dad creates the universe, I'm pretty sure you can come to earth as any color you want. Maybe He appeared to different people the way they wanted to see Him.
Truthfully, I think that's what God looks like, too. If you create the entire universe, it's not impossible that you could appear differently to every person.
I find it best not to think about it. Doing so tends to have the same effect on me as thinking about how the internet works (and how many things have to go correctly for it to work).
