Heard about that. Doesn't affect me much, it's really no different than when he was in captivity, from my view. My sister wanted to see him die, though.

Well, apparently there's video and pictures so, she may get the chance.

Hmm....well, he was an evil man, but I still stand by my stance of being anti death penalty. Personally, I would have rather seen him rot in prison.

Personally a bit shocked myself. He should have been dealt with, yes. But not like this.

I'm more worried about how the radicals will act now that Saddam's dead. :eekdance:

It's good to know I'm not alone.

I don't think there should be a death penalty either, but from what I saw it wasn't us dealing with the crime anyway. I think our forces handed Saddam to his formerly oppressed people for judgement. We may or may not have decided to spare his life, but I don't think people in the middle-east would consider any other form of punishment for such an offense.

People took more than just photos. There is supposed to be video tape of this, so people all over the intarwebs are watching YouTube for it to pop up.

Technically, but we all knew that giving him back to Iraq was the same as putting him to death - it was obvious that they would kill him once we gave him back.

The actual death? Where? All I have seen is up to when they tie the noose up... Then it stops..

The body after the hanging..

They filmed the entire thing. The film is in the Iraqi government's hands and it is up to them what happens to it.

I'm not opposed to the death penalty (I am somewhere between "let everyone go" and "kill them all"), but I would have liked him to have stood trial for everything he did, and possibly be sent to one of "his" prisons (only this time, staffed by shiites and political dissidents, instead of his own goons) and given the same "fair" treatment he gave them for the rest of his life.

It's ELSR, guys, don't even try to make any sense of him.

Really, I think he deserved it. He's one of the few who does deserve the death penalty, in my opinion. But it's not that big of a deal.

Wow, you couldn't have said that the FIRST time? Image

Image. I don't wanna see the video of Saddam's death, and I don't wanna see the video of Steve Irwin's death, either.

I don't think it'll be stolen. If anything, after the Islamic holy days that are going on right now, they may show it on Iraqi state TV.

You saw the body in ELSR's post. Here's video of his final moments -- does not show the actual hanging.

He was a bad man, but I greatly hate the death penalty.
And if you really want him to suffer, let him rot in prison.
