I am an aspiring Pastor's apprentice. I am going to college as a major in theology. I wish to use this opportunity to answer any questions that you may have for people like myself.
If anyone, being priest or pastor, would help me out here, I would appreciate it greatly!(Didymus, I could use you, because your faith is close to mine).
So,
God bless and I look forward to answering your Q's.

no, no, no! Heavens, no. I made this section, sure to speak of the bible, but also primarily to tell of the greatness of my god by giving spiritual help to my fallen brothers. I want to speak with people in order to improve upon my abilities a a pastor. I may not be a pastor, yet, but I'm trainning, and I think this could be good practice.

Whoa, whoa...slow down there, Rev. Self-Righteous..."greatness of my god"..."my fallen brothers"? It's nice that you're excited about your religion, but be careful about what you're saying here--you make it sound like you're better than others, or that you alone have all the right answers.

Nothing arrogant about saying your God is great.

And "my fallen brothers" can easily be construed to mean "my brothers who are fallen just as I am".

You seem to be looking to take offense here, PMG.

not really... the post DID seem to be a bit self-righteous. I let it be, though, because I felt that it wasn't his intent.

thank you, and I am sorry. I hadn't known I phrased things that way. Sorry. I am not better than any of you, though. We are all equals, here. I don't have all the answers...I am a little excited though...I guess by definition, I'm an evangelical Christian. I lost my ways in God, and found him again when he orcastrated his plan in action.

You see, my being christian again is the direct result of the return of a good friend of mine. While he is not a christian, and is in-fact a declaired humanist agnostic, his return into my life started a chain-reaction witch led to my first girlfriend, the discovery of a whole new group of friends, the idea of going to church with my new "church friends," and eventually turnning my whole life around. I;m trying to tell as many people as I can, because I believe nothing is EVER random! God's plan in motion is so glorious! I just want to tell the whole world!

I wonder if you would be saying the same thing if someone's God was Ganesha or Diana or Allah. Just as an FYI, in case any Christian wonders why non-Christians in America seem to get so uptight around mentions of Christianity, try to put yourself in our shoes: Imagine you were in a developed country that allowed all members to practice whatever religion they wanted (so long as none of the practices broke other established laws), yet the dominant religion of said nation by far was something like Hinduism. Some members of this dominant religion even argue that their religion is the sole provider of the advanced morality that allows them to be so developed and open-minded towards practicing different religions in the same nation. Imagine growing up and living day-in, day-out surrounded by traditions and culture rooted deeply in a religious system so different than yours, even though they were providing you the freedom to still practice your own religion of Christianity. You see their religion as wrong, and perhaps a bit silly, even though you don't necessarily hold feelings of ill will towards the religion itself or the people who practice it. But because of your difference of religious opinion, because the other religion is so ubiquitous in your country, you have a tendency to just get fed up with it after a while--you feel that you just can't escape it, the good and the bad. De jure, you can practice whatever religion you want, but de facto, you're seen as something of an outcast by so many people for not following the dominant religion of Hinduism. That's what non-Christians typically feel living in America.

And Steve: you're forgiven. I can understand the desire to spread about the word of something about which you're so empassioned and believe so thoroughly, and which seems to hold an entirely positive effect in your life. It's good (and thankfully human nature) to want to be altruistic in this sense. Just remember that not everyone will see as you see. For many people, religions (and/or specific religions) will always hold negative connotations for them due to their own personal experiences with it.

I will put your wondering to an end.

It's fine with me. People can believe whatever they want. It's not offensive to me to see Muslims praying and hailing Allah. It's not offensive to me to see people say there is no God. I don't go jumping on people claiming to be offended because of their beliefs.

And regarding your second point, I'm a white Christian male. I apparently have no idea what it feels like to be persecuted, so you may be wasting your time.

(Above comment is tic.)

According to my brothers and sisters, fellow disciples, and the pastors I've spoken to: negative responces are no reason to give up my duty as a christian and a future teacher of Christ's word.
While many are always going to be negative (Jesus himself even said so), I am still obligated to teach those who will hear me...
Granted, I am never to force the truth on those whose ears are shut, I am still allowed to try to convince those who wish to hear me.

Yes, Jello, stop it. That was uncalled for.

He should've at least tried to be sympathetic.

while he lacked sympathy, he was trying to make a point.
He meant no harm, and lashing-out wont do anybody any good. so let us all be civil, and we can get down to business if you'd all like.

Now, does anybody have a question about what I believe, or would anybody wish to speak with Didy for some reason, any reason at all? We welcome any questions and topics with open arms.
Also, If you'd like to state a prayer you want the group to pray, or if you'd like to share something that's on your mind today, it is our job (mine, and all the others that wish to) to help you out...
Granted, again, I am not yet a pastor, I am trying, and your help in asking questions and stating problems will be most appreciated...Let us here help you.

He COULD have and SHOULD have, but he didn't. At any rate, it was PMG's place to point that out, not yours.

Freinds, FRIENDS! Let us not dwell on this issue...
Come now, there is much to talk about.
Please, come talk.

Non-denominational. The more religious you are, the further you are from experiencing the Spirit. Not that there's anything wrong with being denominational if you don't have to shove your piece into its puzzle, but I prefer to read the Bible and see things in it the way I feel God showing me to.

St. Francis of Assisi would agree with you there.

I'm a member at a CRC church (Protestant-Calvinist-type), but I also go to a very contemporary nondenominational church. They both have their own good parts, I guess.
