I'm not asking the TBC to make a new character. 'Cause that would be kind of stupid. But...it would be cool if they made just one joke Hanukkah 'toon. Here's my fantasy: Homestar sports a yarmulcha with a propeller and a Star of David in place of his usual one. I'm afraid that's too stereotypical... I even wrote some fanfic for that toon. It's pretty stupid, but I'm proud of it. Sorry, I can't put it here, I don't know how to work with Cut and Paste, and I'm working(or not working, to be precise) on a Tandy-era computer. I'm half-Jewish myself, on my dad's side. Only half and not too into it, but still. I think I speak for all of us when I say that there should be more examples of the culture in the media. Well, not all of us. Not even a substantial amount...Sorry to offend anyone. Sample scene of fanfic: SB lights menorah with BMW lighter as Homestar blows them out. |

I don't think HSR and TBC are really concerned with representing different cultures and beliefs and minorities and whatnot...they're just fictional characters that play by their own rules. As far as I can see, there are just as many Christian HSR characters as there are Jewish ones. Once you start defining them as such, though, you go down that road and have to represent everyone under the sun...Black, White, Latino, Middle Eastern, Asian, Antarctican, Arctican, Vatican, Plutonian, Drops of Jupiterian, Homosexualian, Heterosexualian, Pastafarian, and Independent RepubliDemocratians for the Betterment of KKK-Supporting Anti-Nazi Pro-LifeChoosing Purple-Dipped Chocolate Jedi Cheese Fries....and that'd just be too many characters. |

That'd send them down a road of controversy. I think that's one of the reasons they celebrate Decemberween instead of Christmas. |

Yeah, TBC usually stay away from religious stuff. Actually, I think there's some Jewish culture in the media already. It seems like there are as many openly Jewish characters as open Christians on TV, and fortunately the Jews are portrayed as good people and never jerks. Also, if you still want to use copy-and-paste: highlight your work, copy it (press Ctrl + C), then as you post on the forum paste it (press Ctrl + V), If you're using Windows or Linux. |

Unless you count that whiny dad in The War At Home. -_-; But I digress, it's likely TBC would never do that for reasons explained in above posts. |

Just as a side note, I frickin' ADORE that song. Anyway. As lulzy as it might be, it's never gonna happen. Ever. As it is, they're a part of their own culture, with their own mythology (the First Decemberween, remember?), their own strange methods of celebration, and all that. Within the reality of the series, Decemberween falling on December 25th is just a coincidence--it's just 55 days after Halloween (as I recall--my math is terrible!). It's NOT Christmas--it's its own unique, undeniably strange holiday, celebrated in a unique, undeniably strange way, and so requesting that they do a Hannukah (sp?) toon is, in the end, the same as requesting a Christmas toon. Or a Kwanzaa toon. Or a Winter Solstice toon. ...Now that I think about it, a H*R Kwanzaa toon would be one of the most hilarious things ever. |

I don't think thats ever gonna happen. They don't even have a Christmas toon, they have Decemberween, and is good enough as a holiday toon. |
