Post subject:  The "Stick Your Conspiracy Theories Here!" Thread

This was made to let us discuss conspiracy theories without bogging up other threads or making threads specific to each conspiracy.

My conspiracy theory is that certain conspiracy theories are allowed to perpetuate because they are false but sound true, and therefore divert attention away from the real cover-ups. Roswell and Area 51 keep looking incriminating, but I'm sure any real information about alien life would be kept and studied far away from there--likely underground. But the first rule of cons is to have your mark watching the Ace when they SHOULD be watching the Queen.

Why would I want to watch AceKirby? Queenie C is way cuter.

My thought about Area 51: I personally think that all the "flying saucer" reports were probably experimental aircraft, with technologies that were far advanced for what what publicly available. Of course they wouldn't want the Russians to know what we had, so there would be tons of secrecy about the place.

That's about the truth, Didy.

My Conspiracy: I think George Bush can say nuclear right.

Of course there is also the microchip conspiracy, but it's not that important anyhow....

I've often thought that Roswell was a cover-up.

Not in the sense that most people would have you believe, though.

I've always thought it was an attempt to pull the wool over the Russians' eyes. Roswell "happened" in the height of the cold war. We knew there were KGB spies in America. We had 2 choices in dealing with them. One choice was to make security tighter (and know we weren't going to stop all of the spies), or we could distract them. I think the whole Roswell thing was fabricated to keep the Russians guessing what was going on. Think about it. All the Government had to do was fabricate a suspicious occurrence, change their story a couple of times, then (maybe) hire one or two people to get the ball rolling.
Did it work? You tell me. The KGB had a unit devoted to extra-terrestrials. Resources that would have otherwise been devoted to legitimate espionage activities were used for this unit.

We only sent Coke cans with bottle rockets and cell phone cameras attached to them to Mars... gosh...

9/11 = way fake. Moon landing (first one anyway) = also way fake.

OK, I think it's about time we start sticking to real conspiracy theories...

What do you mean by that? Those are "real", in the sense that they exist.

EDIT: Refrencing to the above. Durr.

Well, yes, but it isn't really a good starting point for a serious discussion...

Ah. I can only really back the 9/11 one. So much of it is just...so off. Watch Loose Change, that would give a good amount of info.

Except that a lot of that has been thoroughly debunked.

My conspiracy theory is that Roswell was a group of ragtag humanoids from the year 3004 and the alien was a red lobster.

I hope for the sake of mankind you're joking.

I DO, however, believe that the Titanic was faked.

I don't really care if the Titanic was faked because that was like 500,000 years ago (joking) and has nothing to do with the current conspiracy theories.

Unless 47 relates to all these others...

WAIT I GOT IT

9/11 = 20 x 2 = 40 + 7...

Somehow that's totally evidence.

That site's a joke, a parody of conspiracy theory websites. Just look at page 3 with the letters:

And the "further reading" is a bunch of completely unrelated links.

My link was satire.

There isn't a shred of evidence that hasn't been debunked for ANY conspiracy, EVER.

Also, at Loose Change: HA HA HA. No.

Watch Penn and Teller's Bull$%^& sometime. It might teach you something.

MKULTRA.

Okay, well maybe that, but none of the real popular ones have anything that hasn't been debunked, i.e. grassy knoll, 9/11 fake, Moon Landing fake.

Yeah. It was a lie created by the government. There is also a sequel, called "Unfastened coins", where the guy proved that the titanic was sunk by the jews.

Here is the site, with video.

Now seriously, I have no respect for all idiots who believe loose change. How hard is it to believe that some guys got on an airplane, subdued the pilot, and then flew that into a building? Dammit, I could have done that!

While I'm not sure I believe this one, there's a lot of conspiracy styled stuff with that family, or at least stuff that I hear. Stuff like confessing about spies and other cover-ups on deathbeds and stuff I half-listened to on the news half a year ago...
