There is a flaw in your thinking, there, Pfargtl. We conservatives make a distinction between impulses and actions, which you and most people fail to recognize. It may be true that homosexual tendencies may be genetic, but any sexual behavior is a matter of choice. While one may not be able to choose one's orientation, one most certainly can choose how they respond to their desires. I am a heterosexual man who has the same desires as any other heterosexual man, and yet I don't sleep with women. Why? Because there is a sharp distinction between my sexual inclination and the way I choose to respond to that inclination. |

PP, you're right in a way, but if that's true, the "gay gene(s)" would've disappeared long ago. For male homosexuality, it's theorized that the "gay gene(s)" simply make the holder more attracted to men. So a woman with the gene would be more attracted to men, creating more offspring, enough to make up for the loss of offspring due to men with the gene Therefore, the gene isn't an evolutionary disadvantage, and won't disappear like that. |

I hate the term "gay gene", as it's highly unlikely (read: nearly impossible) that a single gene is the cause of something as complicated as gender preference. |
