Response to all last posts: This is why I posted this here instead of General Discussion. :)

I personally believe that there are other humans out there. living out their lives on other planets similar to Earth. like bob though, and I'll quote:

Why other humans? It would seem that life on other planets resembling humans at all is unlikely, since our particular body shape and functions are more or less an accident of evolution. It's also worth noting that even our intelligence is an accident of evolution... of all the species on Earth that could develop anything close to our level of intelligence, we're the only one who has.

I have to admit it took me a minute to realize that Bobsmith meant "Are UFO sightings related to intelligent life on other planets?" rather than "Is life on other planets related to our life"? Which way did you understand it, and why do you believe it?

Yes, it seems exceedingly improbable even if it turns out that practical faster-than-light travel is possible (although I doubt it'll ever be as easy as on Star Trek). The human lifespan, which is usually 100 years at best, is virtually nothing on geological scales. 100 is only 0.0000001% of a billion. "A drop in the bucket" doesn't begin to describe it.

We may very well be in some kind of utopian culture where everyone is like really smart and have super powers and stuff before we get wormhole travel or faster than light travel.

Well, from your posts, I'm coming to the conclusion that you are an Evolutionist. In that case, we can never come to any grounds of agreeability. So lets not get anything heated going on. :)

Now you asked two questions out of your post I think. I'll bold them...okay...well, I never looked at it the second way. I took right off as the first thing you asked. So yeah, I don't believe that UFO sightings are related to other intelligent life on planets. Now that you bring up the new question of "Is life on other planets related to our life?", I kinda' have a belief of that. In my scripture study a while back, I came across a set of verses that kinda' sparked some interest. Its been a while back, so I can't point to them right now, but it sorta' gave me the idea that there is life on other planets, just like ours, and that Christ died and suffered for them as well. So in a way, I think it may be possible that life on other planets could be related to ours. I never really pursued my thoughts, but while reading the thought did come to me.
