Hmm, I like how someone who self-proclaimedly supports separation of church and state is advocating exactly the opposite.
I don't see what the fuss is about. Most of what has been put up for mocking in here is perfectly acceptable secular governing. State-sponsored advocation of religion is against the constitution, and for good reason. Those famous two words in the so-called land of equality's Pledge of Allegiance spring to mind.
That candy cane case is, of course, so ridiculous that I shouldn't have to point it out. It's an entirely different kettle of fish from a state school playing religious carols in their concert.
