Wow, I'm nothing... A click right (moving the dot left) and one up (moving the dot down) and I'm zeroed in... oh wait, this isn't sighting in a rifle, it's my politics! :p

OMG YEAR OLD POST

That's a really crappy post, too. Somebody flame me for it.

I'm gonna re-take the test and post a fixed image instead of this broken one. I never thought this thread would come back, so I deleted it.

EDIT: Image

My thoughts on this are the same, although my last one was more to the left/down. Cue generic "The test makers were right wing conservatives!" speech :P

This may surprise a few people.

Heck, it kinda surprises me.

Apparently I'm similar to no one famous. At least not anyone listed on the site. Kinda near Nelson Mandela, which is pretty cool.

It is important to note that this test takes your average feeling about things, so there may be people who feel VERY authoritarian for some things and VERY libertarian on others...

I'm kind of a good example. I'm VERY libertarian when it comes to the last 6 questions "the bedroom questions", or gun control, but I'm very authoritarian when it comes to things like the death penalty.

The selection of "issues" could WILDLY affect someone's rating. Still, I think most of the questions are fair. It'd be better if there was a "meh" selection, too, because on some of the issues, I really didn't agree nor disagree.

Upon looking at the thing that shows you what famous leader person you're similar to, looks like I'm very similar to that weird German guy. Not this one. This one.

Took me a minute to figure out how... I just hit "print screen" then pasted it into GIMP, cropped it, saved it, uploaded to my photobucket and linked to it. I'm sure there's probably a better way.

In Linux there's a program called KSnapshot where you can crop it as you take it, so I skipped all that.

The only problem is my computer won't respond to the print screen button. See?

Nope, that don't work either. I've tried alot of key combinations and it just doesn't want to work.

Thanks though.

I used to like this test, but now I'm not so sure.

It ignores the concept of social conservatism, or confuses with authoratariasm. You can be very authoratarian on new concepts too, much like Stalin. Conservatism means sticking to old ideals instead of trying new or more seemingly logical ones baed on the idea that they're tried and tested, which is probably why people are getting surprising/weird results.

Not necessarily. Conservatism can also apply to someone who has reviewed and tried new concepts, but finds the old ones to be the better in their minds. As well, there's nothing to stop anyone from being liberal on some issues, and conservative in others.

Me, I'm a "left libertarian" according to the test - no surprises there. But I've got beliefs that could be classed as conservative as well. In that, I believe in patriotism, preserving my native culture, and I'm fairly cynical about political correctness and positive discrimination.

That describes my views pretty well too.

So this thread is reborn and dies again in January / February of each year?

Eh, I thought it'd be nice to post my graph, but almost everyone else was in the same area so nevermind. Test is suspicious. There's probably a better one out there somewhere.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -3.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28

Lol, I'm close to Ghandi. One time, I had a dream I went back in time just to punch him in the face to see what he would do. But I woke up right before I actually hit him. Um. Toastpaint.

I would agree with this assessment too. Pretty dang close to the middle, but not actually very close to anyone famous (lol rebel). My closest figure is Romano Prodi, of whom I'm too ignorant to know much about. XD

Man, I am becoming more Libertarian as the years go by. I get anymore left, I'll start saying "Da Comrade" when ever some asks me something.

I seem to think that people have more of a right to do whatever they want with their money, AND think people have more of a right to do whatever they want in their lives.
I've gotten more permissive.

Like I said on the other thread that Yeltensic started, I got

Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.36

A lot of people on here are left libertarians.

It's possible that people are a lot alike OR it could be that you're not getting a totally representative sample of the population. I mean, here, you're essentially getting a 15-25, white, middle class demographic (yes, I know there are people here that are outside of that).

What I think is funnier, though, with these tests is how people are surprised with their results. A lot of the people I know that have taken this find that they think they're more liberal or conservative than they really are.
