Farming, what made civilizations possible. And ancient practice that has been improved over the milleia, but utilizes one thing; saving the seeds from one crop to plant another. These biotech companies are robbing farmers of their profession's birthrite by making them pay for the privilege to plant the seeds that they produce.
This same thing is happening in Iraq. The argument that "the farmers here in the US can always choose not to buy the genetically modified seeds" does not apply in Iraq. The only seeds that the Iraqis are doing given access to are the biotech seeds. Either that, or like many of the American farmers, they either don't understand the agreement, or are being witheld it...
It is a great crime for these companies to be doing this.They are sticking it to farmers all in the name of profit. Added to the still unknown effects genetically altered produce will have gives the argument against the use of genetically altered seeds much ground...
