| Post subject: | Origin of the Ape-Men |
The sun is of great importance to our bodies. In parts Scandinavia where there is darkness for half of the year, people develop deformities due to the lack of sunlight. The skeletal remains of these poor folks resembles those of apes, and so the evolutionists claimed they were the remains of ape-men. I know it's idiotic, but it's true. |

Well, the body doesn't need sun, they just need vitamin D, which is most easily gotten from the sun. Oh, and, you're body doesn't "become deformed" from lack of vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency is only known to cause Osteoporosis and Osteomalacia, both of which only thin or weaken the bones, they don't restructure them. |

Obviously I don't know for sure, but based on present evidence - only one post, and it's a clearly inflammatory statement - I'm guessing he's a troll |

Don't judge crispygrafix just because he/she only has one post! A troll is someone who makes spam topics, but crispygrafix hasn't done that, so he/she doesn't qualify as a troll. |

Actually a troll is someone who posts to provoke a reaction, usually negative. Since Crispygrafix's total posts to date consists of making a hard-and-fast assertion on an extremely controversial subject, I'm inclined towards their being a troll. They might not be of course, but I'll need to see more posts to that effect |

What about Rickets? I've seen some pictures of fairly deformed people who had Rickets. |

Rickets causes skeletal deformity, which is different than skeletal structure differences. There are also other flaws with crispygrafix's arguement. Firstly, sunlight isn't the only way to get Vitamin D. Most fish have a signifigant amount of Vitamin D and the Scandanivian countries' major exports include fish. Another flaw of the arguement suggests that every single fossil they found were the remains of people who were deformed due to a lack of Vitamin D. If this were the case, they would have found plenty of people with the same bone structure who weren't deformed at all. |

You're right about that, Evin. Plus most of the fossils of prehistoric men tend to be found in warmer climates, like in Africa. |

Ok, I just looked up what a 'troll' is. No I'm not a troll. But if I was, I'd be a dumb one. |

Maybe not, but that was spam (spam is something that doesn't contribute to the conversation one bit) You made your point, I made an opposing point. Are you going to make an arguement for your point? At all? |

Did you know that the Greenland Norse starved to death because they wouldn't eat fish? I'm not saying that's the case with these monkeydudes, but just because there are fish around doesn't mean that they would have the ability to catch them, or the desire to eat them. |

At all? If you want to get into the nitty gritty details, the above post contributed nothing to the topic either. As such, it would be classified as spam as well. I notice that you have asked if he is going to counter your point, but that could have been done in your previous post. I am not upset about it (to be honest I don't consider either post to be spam... both are relevant to the immediate topic, not necessarily the focus of this post, but they both provide some insight for users). Personally, I don't like seeing all (or any) of the "this is spam" posts. They scare away the newbies, and annoy the seniors. On-topic: If lack of Vitamin D causes bone problems, couldn't that in turn cause misshapen bodies? I have trouble believing it would cause a complete de-evalution (into an apeman), but it certainly could cause a hunchbacked and misformed population. Couldn't it? |

That is true, but the archaeologists that discovered these fossils would be able to tell the difference from a hunchbacked human and an ape-man. |

First, I would like to ask the question: what ape man are we talking about? Are we talking about Cro Magnon or Neanderthal? It is interesting that recent archaological studies have now concluded that Cro Magnon and Neanderthal coexisted with modern man. Isn't that a kick in the teeth...er, opposable thumbs? Anyway, I'm asking because the term "ape man" is just a little too vague. Please be a little more precise. |
