I think the idea is... If the government were to make a so-called 'Terri's Law', which allowed either the government or a family member to step in on their independent child's decisions.

So if a mom wasn't happy with her daughter's choice in getting an abortion, then she would have legal rights in stopping it.

Or say a certain political figure **cough** wanted to stop anyone from having an abortion... this would be the path that leads there.

After watching this week's episode of south park, they prove an interesting point. The whole episode was exactly like Terri's case, probably done on purpose. And Maddox seems to be on the side of letting her die too. But it's a good thing she's in a happier place.

Wow, big no-no. Maddox is complete crap, I'd reguard "The Onion" with more respect than anything on Maddox.

I think that euthanasia should be legal if the person has a clearly written document explaining that if they get to be in a certain condition, that they do not want to live.

Obviously, Michael Schiavo didn't have any evidence supporting his claim, and neither did the parents. It was one person's word against another. I think the case should've been dismissed because of lack of evidence on either side. But hey, it's over now. Maybe we'll learn something and something good will come out of this after all.

Oh, and I agree. Terri's in a better place now. I guess that's the only bright side of this whole thing.

Even in death Terri can't have peace. Her family is fighting over where her ashes will be taken. The Schindlers want terri in Florida with them, while her husband wants them to be buried in his family's plot in Pennsylvania

I think some of it might be that they're using her to gain even more media atention. It's sad really.

Hey Schindlers you know that little phrase "rest in Peace." If you really loved your daughter you would let her do that.

You know, as much as I hate South Park, I've got to say they summed up this whole thing rather nicely in a recent episode. Kenny dies, but soon is resuscitated in a vegetable state. As his lawyer is reading his Will to the other three kids, Kenny leaves his Sony PSP to Carson, until they find out he's not dead yet. So, the two kids want Kenny to be kept alive in the veggie state, but Carson wants him to be unplugged (for the PSP alone). In Kenny's Will, though, the page that states whether he wants to be kept alive or not is missing, leading to Kenny becoming this huge media catastrophe. In the end, they find the page, and on it it says, "For God's sake, do NOT let me become a huge media snafu.".

Many of you have probably read this already, but Schiavo's parents are selling the names and e-mail addresses of people who donated money to keep her alive to a direct-marketing (read: telemarketing, junk mail, and spam).

..nice folks.

Sorry. I guess I missed the little eye-rolling smiley.

As a moderate conservative, I am personally appalled by the Schindler's "Oops, I dropped a CD with 5000 email addresses on it!" ("Oops, I just dropped a quarter for each one!").

It may sound crude to say this...... But I made an interesting observation.
Terri had her tube removed....... a few days later, the Pope had a feeding tube attached.

Tube sharing? Don't they make enough tubes to go around?
