That's strange, KN, because Troggy certainly hasn't convinced me of anything - and I'm technically on the same side of the fence as you both, religious believe-wise. As much as I'm loath to admit it sometimes.

Tell you what, seeing as evidence is so important to you, why not present to us all undeniable evidence that what you believe is true.

Case in point: you can argue that no evidence exists to support the opposing argument, but the TOTAL lack of evidence on your own side needs to be acknowledged.

You've also got nothing, Troggy. I don't see why Christians need to defend their beliefs all the time.

I assume it's because they choose to post in a forum about religious debate.

Trog-Dork, I'm terribly afraid that you have just dug yourself into a big, deep, dark, neverending hole that you may never me able to climb your way out of. You can't cite lack of scientific evidence on this thread, because it's not of scientific nature.

And besides, do you really need to know these details? I'll take his word in that he has experienced things that led him to god's existance. If you can't trust Didy's word, you can trust no one else's, and might as well lock yourself in a pantry and reveal your secrets to industrial size bottles of Heinz ketchup.

Why should I believe something just because some random person on the internet, who I have NEVER MET BEFORE, and KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, says it's true, and REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY EVIDENCE!? WHY!?
THERE IS NO REASON WHY!!!!! Only a gullible fool would believe something just because someone they don't know on the internet told them it was true.

The better question is .... Why should you care?

I don't see your opinion being changed, and I am positive that nothing you say is going to change didymus's opinion.

What you are doing is commonly referred to as trolling, or perhaps flame-baiting. I am going to assume that you are just new, and that you might have something useful to provide to our little community. But we don't tolerate people who have nothing useful to add. Just my 2 cents.

And to didymus: I had hoped that you would have realized what this was really all about. Because in all reality, if you let it get to you trog-dork has won. :S

I mean generally. There just seems to be a prevailing rancour against Christians and their core beliefs from ex-Christian athiests/deists/etc that's not always justified.

I do think sometimes that these atheists have personal hang-ups (maybe strictly religious parents or schooling) so that they see all religious people as oppressors or something. I'm not accusing anyone on the forum of that, but we could definately do with less intolerance here sometimes.

Anyhow, toastpaint.

That's what I was thinking/meant by the post about other people's beliefs.
Take someone like IJ, for example. He probably doesn't agree with my religious beliefs, but he doesn't out and out say I'm illogical, nor does he say that I'm a liar or ridicule my beliefs (at least in front of my face). That's the one thing I like about MOST of the people in here. They realize that there are probably reasons you think/feel the way you do and don't try to slam you just because those reasons my not be any of their business, and they don't press the issue, saying that, if you won't share your reasons with htem, then they might as well not exist. They just leave it at what it is. You have your reasons, and those reasons are none of their business.
