Yup, new rating. I think it's for games like Ratchet & Clank which are sorta between Teen and Everyone.

TOTP'D :eekdance:
When did that come out exactly? I don't remember hearing anything about that...

I was just watching TV and I saw a commercial for "Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat" and at the end the announcer said it was rated "E-10" is this some kind of new rating?

ohh boy, back to this subject matter... well, as an avid gammer for any and all games that involve blood, gore, violence, demonic Powers, and shooting sombies heads off and leaving a huge blood stains on the wall, i know that some content cannot be handeled by the weak and slow minded. theyre all very gory, yes, but it provides us with hagdeje..... wait..... why am i getting all complicated about a simple subject? the fact is, no matter what the rating is, that Eighteen year old working at a wal-mart is gonna sell you Doom3 weather you show him/her a licence or not, its never gonna change......unlesss.......Anti-gamer legislation laws! no,no,no, thats not possible, but what about the Tacos????

There isn't going to be any anti-gaming law because the gaming industry makes too much money. And money controls the was Congress votes.

My mom won't even let me play T rated games, and I'm 12! I've played a T game before, and I enjoy most of them! My mom just doesn't like me playing a T game just because its a T game, not because she thinks I might not know if I can handle it or not. Heck, she doesn't even know what the games are! Meh, I gotta say it, I wish I had a different Mom sometimes.

And yeah. its for more than this one reason, but that would be off topic, so...carry on.

I'm 16, so if I want to get a game thats rated M, my dad trusts my judgement and lets me buy it.

I'm 19, so I can get whatever game I want. My parents let me get GTA 3 when I was like 15 or 16, but I think that was because they didn't know what it was about.

back when my parents made any difference in my video game purchases, we really didn't have the rating systems that exists now.

The worst thing out was Mortal Kombat 1, and my dad wouldn't let me buy it.

So we worked something out: We rented it, he watched me play it, then he made the decision.

I think that parents should be up on video games if that's what their kids are into. That way you can be informed on your decision to say yes or no to your kid who's wanting the new Grand Theft Murda game.

I don't buy M-rated games. I download them. ;)

My parents wouldn't care if I bought one anyway. I was at Wal-Mart last month and was going to buy RCT3, then saw Doom 3 on the shelf next to it for $10 less.

I got RCT3 anyway.

My parents don't care either. But that's because I use my own money. That, and they don't see what games I get.

Seriously, a ban like that is ludicrous. Unless you can mind-control your parents, I'd like to think that they might take a second or two to consider what game they're buying for you. This pre-eliminates the need for a ban. If your parents buy you whatever game without even checking what the heck it is (which they should since most new games run about $50 anyway), then chances are that you're going to have more problems than just some game showing a little blood and violence.

And that's another thing that irritates me. Blood and Violence are often counted as different things on a rating. They tend to go hand in hand. Usually if you hack someone up, there's gonna be blood. And if you see blood in a game, it's common sense that it didn't just magically appear there. :ehsteve:

The stupid losers at (american) ESRB are full of (insert favorite excretorial bodily function here)!! I have a GameCube right now. Super Smash Brothers Melee was rated T for Teen because of "Comic mischief" and "violence", when the worst thing that happens is that you get squashed flat by a hammer.

Stupid Illinois governtypes...

My parents don't care about what games I play, but it's annoying when you go to the mall alone, and find this really good game you've been wanting. It's the only one left, and you know it's gonna get bought. You whisk the game away, before anyone could grab it.

"I'd like to buy this game please." you say.

"Where's your parents?" the clerk says.

"Umm.. they're not here..." you reply.

"Sorry, you can't buy that without a parent. Next!" the clerk yells.

Some chubby little kid grabs it out of your hands with grubby little hands.

"Mommy Mommy!!! Buy this for me!" the kid says.

"Okay poopie-kins." the mom relpies.

You yell," NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Why are you posting this?

My parents don't really care anymore considering I buy all my games. They never really cared about the games I played.

Wow. Um, relax, there, Cowboy. Yelling at people isn't going to get you anywhere, and if you're tired of people telling you to calm down, maybe you should just not freak out in the first place.

And, yeah, you're not supposed to use the N-word, or the name of that German guy who wrote that book called "My Struggle".

So, anyone you don't like should be banned? MHG hasn't broken any forum rules. He's no ruder than T-Smash. And I think he was just joking.

if they banned T rated games than I would be reely reely angry. cuz most E rated games dont let you do alot of...stuff, they're just not fun but i agree that its up to the parents to decide wut game you should get.
