Ingiald:

I'm pretty sure the Bible says no such thing. And the Hebrew months don't even correspond to the calendars we use today, anyway, so even if he was born on the 25th of some month, it would be like the 10th on our calendar.

Ooh, ooh, ooh! TOTPD!

Didymus is right:
The bible doesn't say anything about when Jesus was born.

There are longer and better texts, but this one sums it up. Basically the Roman Catholics wanted to shut down Paganism, so they stuck their hugantic holiday right on top of the Pagans' biggest holiday. How friendly of them.

Huh, I had always thought that early Christians were getting thrown to the lions for even talking about Jesus, so they picked that pagan holiday so their celebration would go unnoticed.

But it looks like the Edict of Milan fixed the persecution problem in 313. So yeah, Jones is right, since the date was set in 336 A.D.

I'm a Buddhist. It's pretty cool. Gives me an excuse to put mini statues in my room.

That's the worst reason for subscribing to a particular belief system ever. Especially considering the fact that I have a little Buddha sitting on my right speaker but don't feel compelled to call myself Buddhist.

[Edit: :p :p :p]

No, I was merely pointing out a fact. That's not why I became a buddhist so you can quit making accusations and instant conclusions, thank you very much. I mean come on! Who the heck does that? Just getting little statues and calling himself buddhist! Quit judging me.

Good gravy. Do I have to put little smiley faces after every post I make so people don't assume I'm attacking them? Take some Xanax and calm yourself down.

And just in case: :p

Ooh, another one. What school of practice do you belong to, if any? I follow Soto Zen, myself.

Hm, I guess you could call me Protestant. Basically, I believe everything in the Bible is true. And that our Lord Jesus Christ died for us. But I don't agree with some of the things that the Protestants do, and some other denominations I do agree with. One of the things I agree with is that we shouldn't be fooling around with "Protestants" and "Catholics" and whatnot. So, there's my opinion!

Me? I'm a Catholic-Protestant-Baptist-Methodist-Pagan-Buddhist with a little bit of Judaism sprinkled in. Just in case.

Jewish over here.

I'm very pleased to see so many intelligent people on a forum for such an intelligence-lacking cartoon.

I am the information nerd, & even I have to look up some of the refrences. Like the "log lady" in 3 times haloween funjob. It may be one of the more intelligent cartoons out there. Of course, compared to Ed, Edd, & Eddy....

(Off-topic: my girlfriend looks like the log lady. Is that weird?)

Hey, Turkey, if you want to go around calling your girlfriend "Log Lady," then you go right ahead. Don't let me stop you.

Nah. I just tease her with it. We like to insult each other a lot. Although I swear to God her mom is Margaret Lanterman.

I'm a baptist Christian. I go to 3 churches, 2 Methodist 1 baptist, but the baptist is the best one (Second Baptist).

I'm Catholic, but with what's been happening within the church, it kinda disgusts me.

I can understand that, Ramrod. I would suggest you don't give up on Christ's Church though. You could always consider another denomination, like Lutheran. Just an idea...

Well, it's not that I would like to change, because I do believe in most of what the church says. But the thing is that it says one thing, then does the opposite. It denounces war and violence, then calls for the Crusades. And I'm not going to mention the other things for the sake of my sanity.
