Never heard of it. What is it, and what does it involve?

It's tomorrow. It's a day to honor LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans) students and the silencing and protest against the discrimination that befalls them in school.

A few of the really outspoken people in my class are treating it like "National Come Out Of The Closet Day." They back it up with the argument that God doesn't like homosexuality...however, doesn't that same God also say everyone should be treated equally?

They are going to be owned so badly if I present that argument.

So very true. I'm not going to be able to keep quiet, as because I have to peak in class tomarrow. But I still support the cause.

I've studied the Bible for quite a number of years. I'm pretty sure I never read God saying anything about equal treatment.

What about the 'Treat others as you would want to be treated' one?

Though this doesn't necessarily say 'everything is right with Christianity', "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's" definitely equates to equal treatment.

Breadtangle claimed that he could own people with his argument. I countered by pointing out that he was actually misquoting.

I would say that The Golden Rule transcends equal treatment. It demands sacrifice on our part, and not just a live-let live attitude.

And "Render unto Caesar" is a reference to taxes and civil authorities.

You know what's funny, the one thing all religons can agree on is

"GAY PEOPLE SUCK!"

((PARAPHRASING of course >_> ))

They had that whole meeting of religous leaders to stop a gay pride event in Israel....something about them corrupting their land or something.....

I've never heard of the Day of Silence. I think it's super cool, though. I might participate if I didn't have to work tonight.
