Apparently a salt and water stain on an underpass bears a "striking" resemblence to the Virgin mother. To me it just looks like a salt and water stain on an underpass bearing no resemblence to anyone. I tried to find a picture, but I couldn't. Anyone think it's a divine sign from God? |

I've heard of things like that. I really don't believe in things like that.

Yeah. I look at that just like I look at that picture with Richard Nixon in the 9-11 smoke. |

Personally, I think it's a load of hooey. People are entitled to believe what they want, and if they see Mary in toast, oil stains, salt stains, dog droppings, storm damage, etc, more power to them. The picture looks like whatever you want it to look like. I'm not saying that the Virgin Mary doesn't appear to people in places and all that stuff, it's just that, in most cases of her supposed "appearances", you have to look really hard to see the image, and even then, it doesn't really look like much. To me, I would think that if she wanted to appear, it would be REALLY obvious. All this seeing Mary everywhere really reminds me of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode where they saw Jesus, er, Jee-Whiz, er, umm, Ted Nugent in that bilboard. |

I think that it's cool the way these things come out, but not cool enough to make the daily news. I mean, it's all you hear about now. Something being sold on eBay that looks like something significant. |

Somebody in Austrailia the other day reported to have a picture of the virgin Mary on their bed sheets. How it got there is under speculation |

A story on the Save Toby website was more important than a story about a fire in my news. |

I do see the Virgin Mary in the stain, but in our world, coincidences like that are bound to happen. |

and how do we even know that it's natural? And now that I think about it, how do we even know what Mary looks like? Were any of us alive 2000 years ago? |

Most likely, she had dark, curly hair, a curved Near-Eastern type nose, and dark eyes and dark skin. I am pretty sure she didn't have light brown hair and white skin and blue eyes. |

Here's an interesting story. Last year, some people thought they saw Mary's image on a basketball hoop on somebody's garage behind a bank a few miles from my house. There were cops there directing traffic, because the line to see it was about three blocks long. |

Wow. People are crazy. Dont they know if they fell a presance that its just sounds that are too high a frequency for them to hear? and the image of jesus in toast, looks nothing like him. Looks like a face, rather, half of a face |

Watch, several years from now, we find that the lady that had the Virgin Mary grilled cheese was accidently using her Commemorative Virgin Mary frying pan....
As to the stain, with all the stains there have been in the history of the universe, at least one of them has to resemble Mary. And I know stains... my dad's a drycleaner. |

I don't think they're actually worshipping it. Being a Catholic I hear a lot of people who think we worship the Pope and the saints and Mary. I really think they're just going there to honor what they believe to be a miracle. |

Isn't praying to a wall praying to a token object, which is a very bad thing? Or tree stump, oil stain, or any of the other things Mary has supposedly shown up as? Not only that, what if the saints and apostles are doing the same thing? Ever say "Hey, this bean looks like Abe Lincoln!" Maybe it's actually St. Paul, or someone you don't recognize. |

Somebody vandalized the "image" in the underpass and then the city had it painted over. So I guess that settles that. |

Nope, two ladies "unpainted" it using chemicals...so it's back now. |

These people need to snap out of it. Seriously. If Mary wanted people to see her, I think she could do better than a nasty underpass in Chicago. |
