I'm sure there are aliens out there. While the chance of life forming on more than one planet is extremely small, the probability greatly increases with the number of planets you have. And because we can't even fathom how many planets are out there, I'd say the chances are actually pretty good.

Why would us constantly trying to destroy ourselves be a sign of God hating us? I think that would be better understood as us hating ourselves (or perhaps each other), rather than God.

That's a different matter Bwave (humans killing each other). I was talking about other species (aliens in particular) being smart enough to destroy us in a similar manner as humans destroying each other.
