Ugh, so that;s what lust is. I had to look it up

I'll probably start getting that soon, though I know I'd never do that until when it's right. I still find it pretty disgusting.

But I'ma stop tlaking about that now. I voted sloth, though I'm too lazy. It's the closest one for me, though.

That is one of the stupidest things I have ever read. (And I meant the link, not your post)

And, incidentally, that article is pure crap. If you want a working definition of lust, consult the SA web site. As an organization committed to treating the long-term effects of lust, I feel they have a much better handle on what the exact problem is.

For me sloth and a little bit of lust.

I'm not entirely proud of my procrastination.

But I do exercise, when I mean sloth, I mean mental laziness.

Hey, no one should really be ashamed of lust. Would you rather bottle up all your desires? We're all human beings with perfectly normal feelings, right?

Is that considered wrong, for having normal feelings?

To a certain extent yes, but when it doesn't involve adultry and stalking, it's normal to me.

*Take note that I don't entirely agree with that "sin"

Lust is not the same thing as attraction. Attraction is natural, but lust involves fantasy, particularly with the intent of arousal. Fantasizing is a sin. And as for whether or not it is healthy? I'd suggest consulting SA for more information.

Probably greed. I've a problem with being happy with what I've got - I want what YOU have!

That would be envy. If you just want more, period, that's greed.

Don't know what SA is, but I see where you're going.

In that case I have an extreme case of lust. :-|

It's only natural. What I don't get is why religion tries to make you go against your own human nature when you know you can't help it.

Attraction is natural, but fantasizing isn't. Nor is acting out that fantasizing through pornography or other unhealthy ways. It is part of the fallen human nature. It is not what God intended for us, but most certainly our fallen human inclinations, combined with a hedonistic culture, certainly push us that direction.

SA is Sexaholics Anonymous, a recovery and support groug similar to AA, but for sex addicts. Just read some of their material. BTW, they do distinguish between healthy sexuality and lust.

Prof: All religion tries to do is encourage people to practice healthy sexuality and turn away from lust.

Is fantasizing honestly unnatural? I'm not talking through pornography, I'm talking about the other kind. At my age, I've got raging hormones, and I just cant seem to think that something I do involuntary (as well as every other kid my age) is considered wrong. From what I've read through teen health books at school, that stuff is perfectly fine.

I'll put it to you this way: it's what we do. It's what our minds want to do. It's what modern media teach us to do. But it's not what God intended for us. So does having fantasies make you some kind of perverted weirdo? No; you are not alone in this.

But does that mean you should just give up the struggle and immerse yourself in sexual fantasizing? No. I do not believe that God created us for that; besides, if left unchecked, it will likely lead to sexual addiction and all the problems that come from that.

And there is help. I've recommended this book before: Every Young Man's Battle. Agent Seethroo once recommended Every Man's Battle, by the same author I think, but that one seems more geared toward married men.

Just remember this: lust is based on natural desires, real needs that we humans as sexual beings need to have fulfilled. But if those passions are not tempered with reason and love (both for one's self and for others), it will become perverted, and lust will be the result.

I do find it interesting that every single resource I've consulted on sexual addiction has cited low self-esteem as a major contributing factor. That is why I believe that love for one's self is vital.
