Super Size Me was an editorial film that was basically a lampoon on the rising "fast food culture" in America. As a "hook" the man who produced the film ate McDonald's three times a day for 30 days and saw what ill effects it had on him.

Me and my firends are producing a similar independant editorial film. The film is called High Score, and it is about the ill effects of video games. I am going to play video games in my spare time for 30 days straight and see what effects it has.

Rules:

1) The same video game cannot be played two days in a row. If I play a video game and wnat to continue later on, I have to wait until the day after the next to do so.

2) Computer games and online games do count, but only those that bear similarities to console games.

3) I cannot STOP playing a game until I have beat it/ gotten a High Score/ whatever the set goal is. the only exception is if I still haven't beaten it by the end of the 30 days.

This is all we've got so far. Tips? Suggestions? Opinions? Information we could use in our film? Post here.

I think you need to develop your thesis more. What do you expect to happen to you after 30 days? What do you expect not to happen? Will you be playing only violent video games, or all sorts? What are you going to measure? Your happiness? Your mental health? Your weight? What will be your methodology?

Also, the "in my spare time" angle is a bit fishy. That could mean anywhere from 15 minutes to 6 hours each day. I think you need a set minimum amount of time. Four hours? Three? Pick something and stick to it.

It sounds like an interesting idea, but if you're gonna do it, go all-out. Why not e-mail FX and ask to do your experiment on 30 Days? They'll pay for the filming and you'll get to be on TV.

It's a good idea, but I don't think that there are any negative consequenses to playing video games. I don't see how it's any different from, say, reading books.

What? I mean, you could get a wrist injury (or break some limbs at DDR), maybe get a few vitamin deficiencies if you don't do anything other than that (gotta eat food! gotta go outside!), but no, video games shouldn't really harm anyone without previously existing health issues.

Also, paper cuts hurt. That is all.

...actually, it isn't. I really suck at video games.

No, I just don't see the difference except that videogames are more expensive and you can read books anywhere you want.

EDIT: It seems ironic that I'm saying something like this about five minutes after I finished reading Fahrenheit 451.

You would only need two games, just to altrenate each day.

Unless, of course, the results show that there are absolutely no negative consequences to video games.

but, You Dont Know Jack, if he finds it, he will re-work things around to make it seem like Videogames Are bad. but eitherway, i only support this if it turns out in favor of video games

Why can't you play the same game two days in a row? When I get really addicted to a game I play it nonstop until I beat it. That would probably have more negative effects than spreading it out.

Oh good I'm not the only one who thought this at first. >.>
