Paganism is a bit of a sticky wicket, it is a very loosly structured assemblage of ancient beliefs that has grown into a kind of cult following. To me, one of the saddest trajedies of the ancient world was the virtual subjugation of a variety of barbarian European religions in the wake of the Roman Empire. Virtually all we know about our own ancestral (well, for us of Western-European descent) comes form Roman historians. This does not invalidate the "right" for others to follow a new, more humanistic assessment of very ancient rituals and rites but it does strike a distasteful chord with many followers of the popular religions, mostly for historical reasons but somewhat out of current societal ones as well.
I'm a Catholic, I go to church infrequently but that does not waiver my beliefs. I read the Bible from time to time (s'good read). If you don't believe what I belive, that's fine too. To me, faith in ones' self and the willingness to do good unto others is far more important than what name you call God.
first of all, sticky wicket is great. imma use that more often....
I'm a Catholic as well, and i was wondering how you can be Catholic and go to church infrequestly, because Catholics believe that not going to church is a mortal sin.
i agree with many of your veiws on paganism(is that a word?).

I think he's talking more about the types who really don't know anything about what pagan beliefs involve, but know that if they say they're a pagan, they'll seem different without having to actually be different.
Posers, in other words.
And I have to say, anyone that finds anything in Peasant's Quest offensive might be touched in the head a little bit...
Thats exactly what I meant! I'm glad u understand. I was trying to stay away from the word "posers" although that was the word that came to mind for me. and MR. KISS, I hope that his post answers your question... i pretty much meant posers who dont truely believe.
