Someone needs to form an anti-PC league. Now.

Look, I believed in Santa until 3rd grade or so, and I never thought of him as cool to the point of wanting to grow up to be fat just like him or find anything wrong with "Ho ho ho!". I only noticed the link when I watched that 2 second skit on Robot Chicken.

These PC people need to get a life. Or kill themselves. I prefer the latter so they don't [rule 6] around with anything else. Next thing you know, they'll call beaver dams beaver lodges.

To be honest, the gap between childish things and mature things are growing farther and farther apart. Rocko's Modern Life had a ton of sex jokes, yet was still labeled as a kid's show, and the Simpsons was thought to be "bad for children". Now, kid shows that aren't as mature as Rocko are for older children, yet no one is complaining about adult shows anymore. Just an observation. People are more concerned that Dora the Explorer is wandering around without adult supervision than the n-word being tossed around in Chapelle's Show or in some South Park episodes. They're babying the children further with these new Santa ideas.

Santa is supposed to be fat and say "ho ho ho". I swear, America is getting way too preoccupied with being "perfectly politically correct". No matter what you do, someone's going to be offended. That's the way it is. But Santa has been a well loved and cherished icon since long before I was born. I see no reason for changing him. It's not like he's a huge factor promoting obesity and sexism. He's not, and anyone who thinks that needs to really lighten up.

To quote Mrs. Claus: "Nobody likes a skinny Santa"

You know what schools need to do instead of nerfing Santa? Tell kids to have some self-control for once, and that it's their own fault if they get fat.

Funny. They tell Santa not to say "Ho" yet little kids are listening to a song whose chorus is "Git out my way, Ho!"

Why the double standard? Why aren't they out there saying that rap is bad and that they shouldn't use derogatory words? Is it because its considered "art"?

If the same drum beat and three keys on a keyboard while screaming obscenities is art, then maybe a serial killer's killings should be viewed the same way, because both make you feel the exact same way: DISGUSTED.

Also, Santa is supposed to be a fat guy. If he were a skinny guy in a red suit, we'd think he were a rapist.

Wasn't somebody worried about the Wookies in Star Wars not wearing any pants, too? I mean, this is like those stickers that say "warning: don't iron your clothes while wearing them" or "salted nuts - warning: contains nuts", or people who look for gas leaks in the dark and use a lighter/match to provide light. Nobody is stupid enough to do such things, and if they are, the human gene pool is better off without them.

Besides, it's the parents responsibility to protect their children and teach them common sense, not the TV shows, video game companies, schools, or stores.

Oh, political correctness.

Santa's been fat and saying ho ho ho for 200+ years. Now they're taking that away because fat, lazy tubbies and people that have sex for a living are offended? What has become of this country? When I turn 21 and get a passport, I'm outta here.

Guys, nothing's going to come of this. At most this is just yet another case of a vocal minority that has no real power, and yet suddenly everybody behaves as if everyone thinks Santa Claus is suddenly a bad influence on the kids. Well, they don't. As stupid as the American public can be sometimes, the vast majority still have some semblance of common sense.

See this is why I hate politcal correctness, Christmas is supposed to be about Jesus's Birthday and giving (and getting), seriously, if you are offended, why can't you just ignore it? Would they like it if I was offended by something important in their lives and asked censor it for "political correctness"? I don't think so.

Honestly, people complaining about political correctness is getting as annoying as political correctness itself. Yes, Santa not saying "ho ho ho" or being skinny would be absurd, but pretty much everybody already knows that, so it's not going to happen. So continuing to complain about the idea is like complaining for the sake of complaining.

What???! I live in Australia and I had never even heard of this ridiculous idea to change Santa until I read this thread. Santa still says ho ho ho, it's been on tv and stuff a lot this year (and he's still fat too), with no sign of change.
Weird ideas like this to "protect the children" are the kind of thing that happens in America a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future Santa was changed in America but kept the same in Australia.
