We're not quite there yet but I wanna see bush get kicked out of office, I'm making a guess on Al sharpton running again, I mean c'mon, there has to be a comeback that he hopes for, Howie dean I think, Al gore, there was some talk about Hillary running, Kerry and gephardt are just ideals, just TWIT.
What else does everybody think?

I'm probably voting Libertarian as a matter of protest. Depending on who the Republican candidate is, of course. If I had to have a Democrat be president, I'd want Dean. He's cool.

Number A: Bush will not be "kicked out of office". No matter how much you dislike the President, he was elected twice by the American people and will step down as required by the term limit law.

Number B: I love Howard Dean. His implosion in 2004 was fun to watch.

I've heard Bill Frist and John McCain are emerging as two Republicans. Personally, I'd like to see McCain, probably the most moderate candidate to run in a while, but since America has to be either right or left (no moderates allowed, it seems) Frist is probably going to be the GOP's candidate. He's likeable, and a lot less "right" than some republican candidates have been..

It'd be nice to see Condi run, just to see how the democratic party would react. Typically, they're the party that panders to minorities. It'd be funny to see what they're strategy would be.

Unfortunately Hillary's probably going to win, just because people are stupid enough to vote for her, just because she's Hillary Clinton.

Personally, I wouldn't be opposed to Bill running again (if only it was legal).

I'll probably vote libertarian, too. Except for their stance on abortion, I don't know that I have much problem with them. I mean, when you think about it, the pretty much stand for what both of the major parties say THEY stand for.

That wasn't his fault. The media did not want him to run for president. He's infamous "YEEAAAAAH!" was completely misunderstood. Howard was speaking to a college rally at Iowa State. He was trying to fire up a bunch off college kids.

I wouldn't say that. He has a few things going against him. Right now he is being investigated for insider trading. He was also one of the leaders in the Terri Schivo debacle. Not to mention he is not really that strong of a candidate. There are some better ones that can run. If I were the Republicans I would go with some one without that many skeletons.

As for Schivo, there was no right side of that debate. You had a family's wishes versus a husband's wishes. If she woulda only made her wishes known to more than her husband, there would have been no debate.

Well, the Governor of Mass., Mitt Romney could work. He has no connections in D.C.. He is pretty moderate. Not to mention he became governor of one of the most liberal states in the Union. Another one could be Rudy Guliani(sp). He is well liked. Very moderate. The only thing that would stop him is if Hillary ran. He and Hillary are real good friends.

Because he was against the major Media conglomerates. Dean wanted to break them up.

i wouldn't like to see frist win because he's kind of nutty. he's getting more and more right and i think some of his constituents are becoming frustrated with him (just speculation). i am not a republican at all (as forumers who read my posts know) but i am actually a fan of john mccain, because he honestly has a lot of interesting positions that i tend to agree with. i like his moderate-ness even though im ususally pretty leftist.

i would also like al gor to give it a try because i think he could do well, but especially if he has a sense of humor about himself and runs as sort of an anti-candidate. i don't mean that he should sling mud or not take it seriously, but i think if he does run he shouldn't start stumping early like a lot do and that would be very interesting to me. i think the '08 election has some really interesting possibilities because there is no heir apparent or even really a frontrunner yet for either party.

I remember hearing something during the 2004 election about what one person's opinion was on if Hilary woud run. His conclusion was that if she ran, the Repubilcan candidate would win. This was, as he said, because instead of unifying the Democratic party, she would split it in two. Just as you'd have people voting for her because they would like to have a woman president, you would also have people not voting for her because they don't want a woman president, or at least not her. Plus, you have people who love or hate the Clintons and all the other details. Ultimately though, as he said, it would succeed in getting her half or so of the Democratic vote, and certainly not very many Undecideds'.

Mind you, I'm conveying somebody else's opinion, regardless of my own personal beliefs, whether they be similar or not. It is an interesting point, though.


Edit: Actually, something I think would be interesting would be Condi against Hillary.

Normally I prefer Democrats, but if Hillary runs, I won't vote for her, unless the Republican candidate is really bad. I would love to see McCain run. I'd vote for him in a second.

I'm interested. As someone who's quite conservative, I wouldn't vote for Hilary in any situation, but I'm intrigued that someone who normally votes Democrat wouldn't choose her over most Republican candidates.

Well, I do agree with a lot of her views, but I just don't think she'd make a good president. Plus I lost a lot of respect for her when she allied herself with Jack Thompson. Even aside from the basic video game issue, anyone who would associate themselves with someone so obviously foolish as Jack Thompson is not someone who I want running the country.

1) I'm a Republican

2) I just don't like what she does. She even stated that a bag of pot is healthier for kids than playing video games (I'm a gamer)

yeah im not a huge fan of hillary but i'd vote for her, depending on the circumstance. i hate the above position on video games, but she's not all bad. plus part of the problem is that she ISN'T a socialist (whoever mentioned that) because she really isn't that far left. socialism is a hard term to use as an insult for someone because all it means is that someone favors a government that provides an array of social programs like switzerland (free healthcare, free public education thru university, good system of public transit, etc.) anyway, hillary really isn't nearly far enough left to be a socialist, she's actually more moderate of a dem in a lot of situations (much more moderate than kerry) but not quite like joe lieberman (im from CT and i hate that guy but thats a separate story.)

In 2008, I'm really only concerned with whether or not Jeb Bush and/or Bill Frist run. I still think Bill Frist is the Antichrist, and we don't need another Bush.

Honestly, while I don't think Hillary would be a horrifically bad president, I'd rather see Al Gore run again. I think he'd win again, especially with all of the positive feedback from his documentary.

Plus, he appeared on Futurama and SNL. How could you not vote for the guy?
