Some people seem to feel that the only thing that has been preventing a terrorist attack over the past 5 years is sheer luck or the hand of God or something.

Pretty impressive how changing colors has prevented a terrorist attack on American soil for the past 5 years.

Whoop-de-doo, 5 years. If we make it to ten, I will be impressed.

Do others here share this opinion? Is there anyone willing to give President Bush even a shred of credit for keeping America safe since September 11th?

Help me out here.

I think Homeland Security has done a good job, even though they've annoyed & inconvenienced nearly anyone who's been to an airport. There have been scares, but I think America is safer now.

What are you talking about "they did nothing"? After 9/11, airplane security has gotten much heavier; it's nigh impossible to get into the cockpit of an airplane now. Just today security was upped with the confixcation of liquids before going onto airplanes due to a terrorist threat. How is that doing nothing?

Furthermore, he sent our troops into Iraq to defend America from potential attacks from Saddam Hussein, who had tricked the whole world into believing he had WoMD. That's protecting America.

Some might say that some of thse things done to protect America weren't done by bush, they were done by Homeland Security - Bush implemented Homeland Security!

Bush has done a lot to help protect America, but people always say he's done the wrong things. Trust me, if he did something else in any situation, those people would be saying the same thing. Some people only look at the negatives of decisions, not realizing thatthere is no perfect choice. No matter what you do, there will be downsides, that's life.

You're right. From now on, we should invade and start "wars" with every other country that could, "potentially" attack America. China, Cuba, Iran - and that's only scratching the surface.

Well Lahi, it's impossible to say that Bush has done nothing to protect The US. Whether you like him you don't, he has made some positive steps in protecting America, though he had made a few blunders as well (Wire taps).

What wiretap blunder are you referring to?

I think that right now, there is a terrorist plot so massive, that it would require years to amass the funds. The another reason that we haven't seen a terrorist attack in the US is because they want us to slack off.

[I AM NOT A TERRORIST]

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I see your point, but what if Saddam did have WMD's(witch he did, but moved them to Syria)? Saddam was a madman, and guess who his first target would've been

Well, if Sadam did have them, he more than likely would have missiles rather that their smaller WMD's And I doubt he could launch one from Iraq and hit here. He would probably either attack Kuwait or Israel first.

IRAN! He doesn't hate us, heck, we helped him out. We gave him WoMD! He said what he said because he was afraid anyone would come and take over, like now. We figure out he has no weapons, and BAM! Let's take Saddam to prison and start up a faulty Republic!

Why would he target us? He wouldn't target the country that helped him destroy a country he hated so.

America is just paranoid, because we always have to be supreme to the other countries. So, we decide, "Hey, I hate dictators, because if we put up a vote we can tell some guy do change that country how we want, and make him run for president! Then the country definitely won't hate us!"

Oh, and I said it once, and I'll say it again, incase someone says America is a Democracy, no... we're a Republic.

Oh, and, terror attacks don't qaulify as "Bombings" because Columbine was a terror attack.

Excuse me, but you seem to have forgotten Desert Shield and Desert Storm? Saddam had plenty of reason to hate us.
