This e-mail was so-so. On the one hand, seeing the cheap cartoon strip rendering of the characters was excellent, and some of the comic's jokes evoked a couple of "funny because it's lame" giggles. I thought Strong Bad wasn't at his best today, though.

The it tastes so good was totally amazing, of course. I also enjoyed the way that sb danced when listening to the west islip song!! It was very hypnotic! The music played during the comic was nice as well. It's really interesting how the brothers karamazov.. errh that is to say the brothers c are able to make really sweet songs using cheesy keyboard sounds and only like 5 notes. But honestly, I have never listened to a song on the homestar site that I didn't instantly fall in love with.

Not only do they look good and come across as fun and humorous, they also sound very tight and professional!

Great jeaoarb, guys.

yours, socetew

So, anyone expect to see some Castlefunnies on the website eventually? I doubt it would work to have a bunch of "So not funny, it's funny" strips on the site. But maybe just for kicks?

(okay, off topic for a sec.)

Ditto to Interrupter Jones on all the punk stuff. You could go back on protopunk to British groups like the Troggs and their ilk (Kinks?) and claim that they were really the beginning of the punk sound. Certainly ideas like the power chord are usually attributed to British bands and that's the backbone of the punk "sound". Simultaneously you had all those "Louie, Louie" groups from the Northeast, mostly unfashionable these days, making noisy rock that could be called early punk as well. Kingsmen, Fugs, Count Five (Paul Revere and the Raiders, if you ignore the saxophone ;) ). But the punk attitude didn't really exist until the MC5 and the Stooges. The Ramones, however, do seem to be the first band to wholly embrace the punk aesthetic and it was their influence that brought on waves of punk rockers in the late 70's. But Punk blew up in England bigger than it ever did in the U.S. (until the '90s anyway)

So there you have it... Punk came from San Jose, Detroit, New York, London, Los Angeles and various other bergs and hamlets across the globe. That's why I say it's debatable.

But ditto to Warlord: The Clash are the best.

Any time the King of Town gets featured, I'm happy. I'm a big fan of the KoT. I'm probably the only one.

 I'm so lonely.

I still don't think it's out of place in H*R. It's really not any different from having a character from Georgia (the U.S. state, not the country) or South Carolina speaking the most dreadful Southern accent, overusing "y'all", and so on. It's just poking a little fun, and, sorry, you're fair game. ;)

True, true.. besides Strongbad is not meant to be a nice character.. I mean you saw SBEmail22 where he disses on the English, so you already knew that he had mad beef. But then again, his ancestor sir Strong Bad has an English accent, so it's kind of like a "Luke, I am your father.." ".. THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" moment.

yours,
socetew :ehsteve:

Sir Strong Bad is his doppleganger! See, Strong Bad in the future invents a time machine and then clones himself and then kills his grandfather so he has his clone act as his grandfather but then he falls in love with his mother and she gives birth to him so he goes back in time and that's how the first Christmas got started. Understand?

The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that you had to go through it once or twice to actually hear Strong Bad and read the cartoons (yeah, I can walk and chew gum at the same time, but concentrating on two conversations is tough, especially when one is speaking and the other is written.)

I thought the band "West Is Lip" was a boy band. Sigh, maybe not.

"The Castlefunnies" kinda reminds me of a totally unfunny comic strip in the newspaper called "Fred Basset" (which is about a basset dog).

The only really good comic in the paper is "Ernie".

I'm actually pondering starting a webcomic where I put in a totally unfunny newspaper comic each day, then cross out words and put in new ones Strong Bad Kids' Book style.

Ya know, this one was worse than flashback. It was totally unfunny from start to finish...I never even chuckled...

Man. Old Comics sucks. Go tapeleg.

Yes, I would have to say that a great many emails are worse than Flashback. This is definitely one of them. I put it on the level of Kind of Cool, not a total stinker, but surely not one I'd watch again and again.

I quite like flashback, but 'for kids' is sooo good! Then there was 'other days' which is also really cool. Then there was 'old comics'. It relied far too much on not being funny and... It wasn't.

It was ok. I got the humor of it, because i'm an avid comic reader and have seen tons of horrid comics. However, it wasn't hilarious or anything. West Is Lip and "IT TASTES SO GOOOOOOD!!" are the main highlights of this sbemail.

I dunno. I'm not the kind of person to say "WOAH! Strong Mad said something! That's hilarious!!"

I didn't think that part was funny.

Now, theme park. THAT'S a funny email!

I don't think :sm: Strong Mad's line was funny simply because he doesn't say a lot. I think it was funny because he was so passionate.
:sm: : IT TASTE SO GOOD!

This isn't one of the better e-mails, but I'd elevate it up a step if we get more from West Is Lip. That 10 seconds of "She Partied Without Dancing" was as good as any Limozeen song. If I don't get more of these guys my heart will have been completely partied with... or something.

This email was good and the comic scripts were funny to look and read. Strong Bad looked like Billy from "Billy and Mandy" because of the big nose.

Sorry if I bump this, but at least this a topic on a email.
